Mark Buerhle just pitched a perfect game for Chicago White Sox. ESPN cut coverage over at top of 9th. First batter hits what would have been a HR, but Wise jumps up the wall catches it, but contact with wall knocks it loose. The ball falls out of his glove and he catches it with other hand on way to ground. Next batter gets up to 3-1 count and Buerhle comes back to strike him out. Final out was a rountine grounder to short, but that seemed like the longest throw from short to first base ever. Although I don't follow baseball much, that was pretty damn impressive.

Gator,

I was golfing - and with some Sox fans - one of the guys from the clubhouse joined us and gave us pitch by pitch updates.

When I got into the clubhouse - I couldn't believe the catch for the first out of the inning. Absolutely amazing.

And, we were all talking about the pressure on the shortstop not to airmail the ball over the first baseman.

Kudos to Buerhle!

Yeah, in a situation like that there's just as much pressure on the guy making the throw for that last out as there is on the pitcher. You'd hate to be the one to muff a throw on that play.

This accomplishment was not as exciting to me because now Chicago and Detroit are tied for the AL Central lead. Detroit has lost 3/5 of its post All Star games by 2-1, where are the bats at??
