OSU's new backup QB from Eisenhower HS in Houston ,TX., may be more than anticipated, {maybe like back-up Troy Smith to the Highly Natiionally rated Justin Zwick, maybe, maybe not.
Whatever the case may be, Guiton's top 2 WRs, Greg Timmons & Jay Reynolds were recruited by the Texas Longhorns & Oklahoma Sooners respectively and his #3 WR, who is also a nationally top rated CB is going to LSU. Somebody was throwing to these guys or Texas, Oklahoma & LSU would not have recruited them.
Tressel was a QB coach before he became a H.C. He has seen something in this kid or he would not have offered him a spot on OSU's roster. This is not an easy roster to get on.

So is JT going to do like he did last year and bench TP for the freshman? If this guy sees anything more than mopup duty before his senior year I'd be suprised.

We won't be benching a guy that is 6-6 240 and runs a 4.33 40.

YOU WISH !!!!

However IF Guiton could do what Troy Smith did {win a Hesiman Trophy as a 3* recruit} then I would be all for him starting for Ohio State, wouldn't you? I want the BEST to start and play in the games whoever that is. I don't care what his name is.
I and everyone else assumed that Justin Zwick was that guy when he came in. I mean given his national hype coming in. Troy was the last recruit in his class and was recruited to back-up Zwick, period.

No I don't think that will be the case. I believe that Terrelle Pryor is a WINNER and so far he has proved that. Certainly at the HS level {State Champ in 2 Sports in the same school year} and in his freshman year in college a Big Ten Title {shared} and a BCS Bowl that went down to the wire with a Texas team that most people {including me} felt should have been in the 2008 NC game vs Florida.

As far as the mop-up remark is concerned I understand where that's coming from.

I'm just saying that having read this about Guiton's role in 3 WR's and himself going to 4 of the best teams in the country makes me feel a little better about his back-up status at OSU that's all I'm saying. Don't try to make more out of my words than that. No I don't think he will take TP's job, not by a long shot. {but having said that, still, I'm not a prophet}. I will keep an open mind.
God willing we won't have to find out how good he is, because TP will be watched over and protected from injury by the Most High. I believe in speaking positive about things I want to happen. I believe in the power of that.
Here's to hoping that Kenny Guiton is what he's supposed to be, a dependable back-up. That's all any team can ask or hope for. What's wrong with that?

I was actually talking with a current player a few weeks ago and TP did in fact run a 4.3 and his weight was 235. That is a fact. :D

funny stuff nut funny stuff, 4.3 40, to bad he cant read a defense and cant pass the football, last time i checked those two areas are the most important, but hey he can run like hell, i will give you that , the 22 sacks he took in 2008 proved that , MOST IN THE BIG10....

There are very few players in the country that can run a legit 4.33 40 yard dash period. Then add to that TP's size. How many players pro or college can achieve this? Sure makes a lot of people in scarlet and gray anxious for this season to start.
