Article on Goldman's part in the last 3 bubble markets. Before you read, keep in mind the article blasts the Clinton and Obama admin as well as cap and trade.

Goldman Sachs is the bogeyman for the libertarians as Halliburton was the bogeyman for the peaceniks.

I stopped reading Rolling Stone around the same time I stopped getting zits.

I also stopped watching Fox News a few years ago. If you think I am a clone then I assume you must watch it.

For once I agree with Zilla. While the article uses a lot of conjecture and anecdotal evidence, Goldman Sachs *has* been manipulating the market for decades, no one ever notices because they "pick their spots".

Plus the SEC is a toothless tiger so they can get away with it. The glad handing going on in Washington between lobbyists from Goldman, politicians (who used to work for Goldman) and the company itself is the height of some of the worst corruption in the markets.

I read about 90% of that article. I won't say it wasn't infuriating, but I think it was a little slim on the sources. I won't say it was all conjecture because I feel the same way about cap and trade. Further, the idea that pretty-much all politicians are dirty is a conclusion that I came to long ago. Funny, I feel the same about Obamacare, but there was no mention in the article. I just wonder why one of the biggest parts in Obamacare is digitizing medical records. I'm sure the major bid (worth billions) GE has in for that contract, all the dollars GE gave the Obama campaign, and all the favorable MSNBC and NBC coverage (which GE owns) has no connection. Somehow those digitized records are all for our benefit and are going to make us live longer instantly.
