It makes me angry. . .what happened to him. All that these guys put in, all the effort to make themselves physically ready to handle football and stave off injury, and then something non-football and non-accidental happens that can take it away. I'm furious. No one has that right.

Thanks.

Tyler started our last two games. Played his butt off and earned his position. Then this shit happens...

To replace him, at the WILL, isn't easy. He was suited perfectly for that position. Yes, we have a ton of kids that can do it but Tyler was the best fit for this defense. He was easily the best LB coming into Camp. Sure, others might play Mike or Sam but he was a PERFECT fit. Whatever your feelings we are going to miss him this year.

I actually think Boren looks like a bigger, meaner version of the brother from My Name is Earl in this photo.

Riddle me this,

If Boren's a tool, and dandy don is a tool, does that make all bucknutz tools?

Me thinks yes.

Bigger, yes. Same intelligence level, probably dumber.

Meaner? Justine can't jog to the line of scrimmage and can't handle being cursed at - sounds like he may be mean enough to join the girl scouts, but that's probably it.

OK, I'm too lazy to google it. Tressel was supposed to have a press conference yesterday and explain how the injury happened. I haven't heard. Someone fill me in.

This kid is gigantic. That girl must have been built too to hit him like that.

(seriously, i hate OSU but I admit this is terrible and he will be in my prayers for a recovery)

For Tyler, I feel for the kid and I hope he fully recovers.

As for Boren.....why is it these guys keep trying to say he looks mean? What does that have to do with anything? I have yet to see a picture where I am seeing the mean. I've seen plenty of people with the same dumb stare on their face and there just isn't that much going on inside.

Riddle me this though.....if the same thing happened to a UM player what would the trolls say? Would they offer their sympathy and prayers? Would they lambast the kid for getting sucker punched? Would they be questioning why he was where he was? I'd like to take the high road and say they would do the same but something tells me they would turn it into a flamefest.

Tressel expects Moeller to play again

Ohio State junior linebacker Tyler Moeller will miss the 2009 season because of a head injury sustained on a family vacation, Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel said Tuesday.

Tressel told reporters in Columbus that he originally feared Moeller would not play football again but now expects the junior to rejoin the team sometime in the future.

A source close to the Ohio State program told ESPN.com that Moeller was in Florida with family members when he was punched at a bar/restaurant and fell and hit his head. He was not immediately hospitalized but suffered an apparent seizure last week and was admitted to the hospital for tests.

The source said Moeller's attacker has been identified and likely faces charges.

"From what I gather, Tyler didn't have much to do with what happened," Tressel told reporters. "Would I be privy to talk about the whys and the wherefores? No, because there are extenuating circumstances that are ongoing. Needless to say, it's unfortunate."

Moeller, a projected starter at outside linebacker, was released from OSU Medical Center on Monday and is home in Cincinnati recuperating. A source close to Moeller told ESPN.com the player is doing "extremely well" after undergoing a procedure this weekend to relieve pressure on his brain.

Moeller started the final two regular-season games last season and was expected to replace All-Big Ten selection Marcus Freeman. Moeller had 18 tackles (three for a loss) last season.

My guess is that there is some kind of legal procedure taking place so they cannot really talk about it. I willing to bet that we know more about what exactly happened in a few weeks. In the mean time I just hope he has a fast recovery.

I wish him a quick recovery - and, if these rumors of what happened are true - it's really a travesty, and I hope that law enforcement really throws the book at the assailant(s).

Release: 08/13/2009

On behalf of the Moeller family, I would like to express our deepest gratitude for the outpouring of concern, well wishes and prayers that Tyler and our family have received over the past few weeks. I also would like to share a summary of the events.

We were on a family vacation in Florida, celebrating his grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary following the end of the OSU summer quarter. On the first evening of vacation, Tyler was with several family members, including his uncle at a popular restaurant/bar; it was there that Tyler was assaulted. He never saw it coming and did nothing to provoke it, which is substantiated by neutral parties. The subject was immediately arrested and the case is currently in the hands of the State Attorney's Office.

Tyler received immediate medical attention for a head injury suffered as the result of the assault, was admitted in to the emergency room and spent several days in a Florida ICU unit. We're very appreciative of the care that we received there.

Once back in Columbus, Tyler followed up with additional medical treatment which resulted in a decision last Friday to admit Tyler to University Hospital for surgery that was performed early Saturday morning. The surgery was very successful and Tyler was released on Monday. He is now at home recuperating and hopes to return to Columbus shortly.

We are so thankful for the amazing care that we have received from the our Buckeye family, including the entire Ohio State football office, trainers and coaching staff, OSU doctors, neurosurgeon Dr. Chiocca, and everyone at the University Medical Center.

We are most happy to report that Tyler is doing extremely well and chomping at the bit to get going again. We fully expect him to be on the field again - we are just not sure of the time frame. Thank you all! GO BUCKS!!
