Anytime policies are created that redistribute wealth they are usually socialistic in nature. The answer cannot always be a government program and more taxes or debt.

If healthcare is provided by the government and welfare programs are expanded then an even higher percentage of our population is incented not to work and contribute. One biggest failed policies in our nation are the welfare policies rooted in the 60's & 70's.

As far a news outlets go. I do not see any of them simply report the news without any political slant. Most traditional news outlets tend to be left leaning by nature. So if Fox leans a little to the right so be it at least both sides are reported.

You didn't see heads of Congress and in the WH running around with their talking points saying that those protests did not reflect genuine American feelings. What I saw was those protests (especially Shehan's) being covered on the nightly news in a very positive manner.

I can't say that going into Iraq was the right decision and I was unsure of it at the time....but once we went in I fully supported it. Not because we should be there but because we were and the right thing to do was to rebuild the country instead of letting it evolve into chaos had we done an immediate withdrawal, much like we did in Germany and Japan.

Every now and then you post something that makes me think you have some sense. Yes, I do call you names, but I like to think my substance to name calling ratio is much higher than what we usually get from you. That was a good post: no name calling by you and a stated fact that I am also guilty of name calling (although I try not to make the whole post about that). Your second paragraph was fine too...not so much fact, but at least a clearly stated opinion.:) Kudos.

As far a Shehan, I did not agree with many of her comments, but I never felt she should be silenced. What really got me after a while was that I think she got pressured into some staged protests to maintain her publicity. Obviously, I don't know for sure what was in her heart, but I wasn't sure whose message she was really peddling at the end. Her antics were certainly out there. I don't know what Obama's equivalent to the Crawford Ranch would be, but could you imagine the media outrage if some Teabaggers or Healthcare protesters went and camped out there.
