The finest summary lecture I've seen and by a former regulator William Black who brought down the Keating 5 during the S&L scandal 20 years ago talking about the current global financial crisis.

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article23243.htm

Macro Economics and a lesson in fraud all in one lecture. If you really want to have a complete understanding of the severe trouble we are facing and how the politicians and investments banks are in bed against you and me, please watch this. Its a little long at 90 minutes, but you will be truly enlightened.

JFC Medic, I'm surprised you're still visiting this site. I'd have thought you'd have put a bullet in your brain by now. Life just seems not worth living according to you.

Personally, I found the video quite interesting. It's amazing how shit always rises to the top....if you have the right connections. Just went to Savannah, GA this weekend, and saw a lot of gravestones for people from the Revolutionary War. Wonder how those guys would handle some of the people and their offenses mentioned in that video - probably a tall tree and a short piece of rope. As far as Medic not wanting to live, I haven't heard such. Nevertheless, these be hard times for us conservative - with our country goin' down the tube and shit.:D

Not trying to be a troll at all. It just seems that all of your posts are doom and gloom and complaining about the government. Either you're a perpetual cynic or an old man. All I'm saying is just swallow the business end of a .38 and end it already.

I would like to believe I am providing information that can help people avoid listening to talking heads on TV who tell them to "buy buy buy" into the existing market. Two words: death trap. I've heard so many people say "hey the market is doing great! I am up 5, 10, 15% this year!". Well no shit, the market looses 50% of it's value in such violent fashion, you're sure to catch the dead cat bounce.

Secondly, if you aren't outraged at what is going on in Washington and on Wall Street, I don't know what to tell you. The top tier and the politicians are looting the countries wealth, destroying what little remains outside their sphere of influence, and laughing all the way to the mattress (sorry the banks are insolvent).

People shouldn't be putting guns to their heads, they should be calling their reps saying and saying "wtf are you doing". Every last one of them should be voted out of office, ban lobbyists from Washington (what happened to Obama's pledge about less lobbyists?). What the government is doing right now in terms of selling debt is unsustainable, and last week marked the first time in *history* that the treasuries failed to sell at auction. All the while Wall Street plugs its ears and yells "LA LA LA green shoots!"

I'm not completely cynical, I believe we still have the best country on earth but that we get what we vote for. Citizens just need to be more informed and more involved and quit worrying about stupid shit like who won American Idol or who the Jonas Brothers are dating. Get involved in your government before they own you. Get your parties to send better representatives to vote for by getting involved in primaries. Obama or McCain? Are you fucking serious? Send people to Washington who consider it a privilege to be your public servant and represent your district/state responsibly, Democrat or Republican.

And just for the record, I don't think the situation would be much different right now if McCain was in office because all the same players would still be in Washington.

I just wish a greater percentage of American's shared our anger at what has been done to this country by Washington. The same one's watching American Idol are the ones saying, "Oh, don't worry about healthcare and the budget; the government will fix it." They also think the government is a never ending ATM machine with endless pockets. Unfortunately, it's our money and wealth they are wasting. As much as I love TV and college sports, I try to get my head out of the sand every now and then and keep tabs on my congressmen. For those thinking that they automatically look out for our best interest, I ask them to explain the current state of the country. Further, how do you expect our representatives to act when they have no term limits and incumbents get sent back at around 90% no matter what they do. I really think a third party could gain traction around the country if they would just run on the platform that they will lessen the congressional salaries (to the average family income), institute term limits, end lifetime benefits, and give themselves the same healthcare as the average American. A platform like that wouldn't even need a plan for anything else because Americans could rally around sticking it to those that have stuck it to us for so long. Most importantly, we could get some of these "lifers" (look, I'm becoming a liberal :D) out of office.
