Check out the article/poll in ESPN the Magazine which lists the nations most over rated program. (see below)

So is it oSU's failure in the big games or just their overall record against the SEC that give them the nod in this census. ?

I think it may be a little harsh but it does not surprise me. Ties in with the Big Ten is weak perception.

Ohio State (24 votes) and Notre Dame (22) were named college football’s most overrated programs in a spring poll of 85 FBS players. The complete census is online now and in the Aug. 24 issue of the magazine.

I love these polls. Whenever a most overrated poll comes out, it's not even a question if tuos are on it, it's only a question if they are #1 on it. :)

I'm not so sure they should be #1 in most over rated, I thought ND had that locked up. I'd put them in the top 10 though. They are though #1 most hated team.

I'm with 704 here. Even though OSU has been mowed down like the grass in my front yard a few times recently, they don't even come close to being as overrated as ND. Although their selection to the NC game has certainly looked suspect after the fact, OSU at least posted an undefeated and a one loss regular season, beat some people down like they were supposed to, and even beat Texas in 2006. Not mention, they have an NC to their credit this decade (no matter how bad the interference call). That's at least something to hang your hat on. WTF does ND have in the past decade?!?! Nada, nothing, not a damn thing....unless you consider 9 straight bowl losses an accomplishment (well, it is a record). Yet, they somehow find themselves ranked - again. Although people always complain about preseason polls being about last year, I present to you the exception - Notre Dame. Not to mention they only have about 3 games on their entire schedule that can tell us anything about whether they deserve to be in the top 50. Since they start out ranked, they will work their way up due to their cupcake schedule (if they don't lose to UM), and then they will get humiliated by USC. Then we still won't have any idea if they are South Carolina bad or Washington State bad.....Ooohhh wait....I guess we will since they play both powerhouses from Washington that combined for 2 whole wins last year.

Nevermind....ND is AWESOME!!!!:D:D

I hate to correct you, but when referring to the tUOS 2002 NC*, you cannot leave out the "*", as required by the NCAA.

What about Oklahoma? Michigan Man, go on Youtube sometime and watch that play. They may have called the wrong infraction, but it would still be a 1st down. Get over it and check the books.

uncle/rico, ill never say the 2002 game wasnt a great football game , and yes we all know who is in the books for winning that game , but man that was as bogus of a call in a critical situation as i have seen, we all know if the shoe were on the other foot ohio state fans would have burned that officials house down, it was a late call and one that should not have been called , time might change fans perception of that play ,but during the real time ,it was bad and a football team that should have won didnt.. and please im over it ,and never lost sleep from it,

Oklahoma is #1 hands down then in no particular order ND, Hawaii, Boise State, USF, WVA, Clemson, Texas Tech and even Florida State is in the pool, there are so many, at first I had OSU # 3 but after thinking about it, OSU actually is alot closer to their ratings than allot of the other teams considering they not favored win USC, Texas or the last 2 NC games they lost in. They haven't lost a whole lot of games in the last 8 years or so.

I see where you're coming from, I mean I could definitely buy into the 2003 and 2004 OK teams. How do you get bitchslapped by KSU in the conference title game like 35-7 or 35-0, whatever it was, and still play in the NC for your next game? That performance in 2004 against USC was an embarrassement. However, your "OSU" logic used on OK makes them look legit. I mean, the coach has an NC (an undisputed one), and he has won a premier conference like 5 out of the last 6 years. He has also been to more BCS games than any othe coach (granted, he has won many of them). Yes they suffered some embarrassing losses on the national stage (Boise St and WVU), but they were certainly competitive in the NC game last year. Heck, it wouldn't have been too hard for them to have been up 2 TDs at halftime in that game. Not to mention they really put it on some people, some of which were decent teams. Basically, that OK offense last year was extremely talented. Other than the BCS games, can you really remember OK just blowing games or not showing up? I think they are a solid club, but they just don't know how to compete with teams that are tougher than they are. Personally, I don't see how anyone can begrudge OK for being in the Top 5 or Top 10, I think they are that good. On the other hand, I am still waiting for someone to explain HOW IN THE HELL ND keeps getting ranked. Didn't they get all the way up to #2 in 2006? WTF?!!!! Based on what? So, RAD, not so fast my friend....it is ND, hands down.
