I agree that preseason polls may often be base too much on what happened last season. On the other hand, that often has some merit - as in, I'll believe it when I see it. Nobody believed OK ST would lose to Oregon, TT would lose to Ole Miss, or OK would lose to FL. Last I checked, defense rules the day. SEC has the best D in the land and I won't change my pick until I see otherwise.

2. Big12
3. ACC (I think some teams can turn it on this year: UM, FSU, VT, and GT)
4. Big10
5 Pac10 (as a conference overall, USC is clearly a dominant team).
