and renewed with the Detroit News. I actually did this a few months ago. Got tired of all the anti-Michigan and pro-Michigan State articles. It's so obvious the free press wants to see Michigan go down and Michigan State up that I couldn't take reading that paper anymore. I switched to the Detroit News and couldn't be happier. No more anti-Michigan crap and they seem to catch MSU on their bluff like they're some great football school or something.
How it works in the Detroit area with subscriptions is you can either get the Detroit News or the Detroit Free Press. Each paper is delivered three times a week, on Thursday, Friday, Sunday. Unfortunately, the free press gets delivered on Sunday whether you are subscribed to the Detroit News or Detroit Free Press. On M, T, W, Sat, you have to buy a paper, or you can get your subscribed paper online as it's exactly written in the paper at e-edition free press or news. The free version of either paper is http://www.detnews.com or http://www.freep.com. But the free version isn't written exactly as the paper is written.
Anyway, If anyone should be under investigation it should be the Detroit Free Press and their conspiracy against Michigan. They should be held liable for destroying the reputation of Michigan and should clean house with their writers or be forced to go under.

It's the fault of the free press. They look for any little thing to bring Michigan down yet let Michigan State off the hook. They always praise on how well MSU is doing but do anything they can to diminish Michigan's comeback.
Take for example the Justin Feagan case. Free Press writer Michael Rosenberg then went on to say that RR knew about Feagan even before he got caught and gave the impression that RR runs a dirty program. Yet on that same day Dantonio re-instated Glenn Winston after serving jail time for severely beating someone up. Not one word was mentioned about that.
Or the recruiting of qb Joe Boisture. Boisture already had committed to Boston College. MSU continued to recruit him anyways and got Boisture to change his verbal. The next day the free press praised MSU for getting Boisture to change his verbal.
In both these cases if it were the other way around and MSU had the Feagan issue and Michigan got Boisture to re-commit, the free press would not have even made a big deal about Feagan as long as Dantonio instantly suspended him, which is exactly what RR did. And they would have questioned RR's tactics for getting Boisture after he made a verbal to Boston College.
These are just a few cases of the favoritism that the free press shows MSU and the backstabbing that they do to Michigan. Bottom line is the free press does not want Michigan to succeed for some reason.
All ready in the Detroit News e-edition this morning, an anonymous player said, "Everyone knows voluntary workouts you don't have to be there, but you have to be there. A loy of guys don't even know the rule, but everybody signed sheets (indicating you kept to the 20 hour rule). It was never a big deal. Those sheets were signed, and that's the only paper trail there is."
That just shows that Michigan was on top of the issue and had them sign sheets about the 20 hour rule. If they signed sheets and the players worked more hours on voluntary time, legally this case should be closed. Yet the free press will make sure that this case is not closed.

Can't the University of Michigan go after Rosenberg and the Free Press for slandering or something like that! I mean, I don't read the Free Press living in Cincinnati but according to your analysis, it seems like the University can do something about shutting this clown up?!?!

I think the university needs to do something about this slandering from the free press. They need to go after the source of the problem. The source of the problem is not the disgruntled players or the national media. It's not the players working overtime. If it wasn't this issue the free press would have tried darn hard to find another issue. The source of the problem is the Detroit Free Press with their agenda to bring down Michigan sports with the power of their pens while letting MSU off the hook.

Don't think for one minute my friend that the Buckeye players don't exceed 20 hours. If you believe otherwise you are living in another world. All the people interviewed on ESPN said film alone would take up most of the time. So don't kid yourself. This here is EVERY University. I really don't care anyhow. This is small and laughable. If this is the best they can come up with to distract the kids, they don't have $hit. Give me a break. "Mommy, coach Barwis made me do 25 sit ups. And he watched too". WOW!

Nut,
If the NCAA concludes that the Michigan coaching staff did things inappropriately - then, I'll accept it. IMO, the staff just wanted to develop the players to their potential. Most players had no problem with it - a few did. I'm sure that RR and the staff will "man up" - they've been direct about it already - and I wouldn't be surprised if the NCAA says - "things look good."

There is no doubt teams run a practice over here and there - that is not the question. These players are reporting major rule infractions. The problem is with working out as much as three times the allowed amount and having grad assistants watching - both major no no's. This is nothing to joke about. If these kids actually testify to the NCAA there could be some stiff punishment. We are not talking about a few extra push ups or RR running a practice a hour extra. These kids are talking about excessive abuse of the rules. I don't think this will go away quietly if these kids come forward and testify.
I just wonder what kind of current player would speak out against his coach and accuse him of cheating. That takes balls. If that kid ever steps forward or his name is leaked out - his career is over. Unless he is good, then the Buckeyes would take him.

Reading these articles it comes to me that the players are unhappy at UM because they know the team is terrible, they thought they came to UM to a major program to be champions and to win games, that probably isn't going to happen for a long time and they know it and are disgruntled. Hence the mutiny at UM, I'm thinking 3 wins again, Winning College football is about motivation and things are going south fast.

Rad,
I think you are completely wrong. And, if you're willing to bet that UM wins three games this year - please let me know how much you'd be willing to bet - I'll take the "over" - that Michigan wins more than 3 games - or whatever number you have the courage to put some money up against.

Shit, we ran over practice times and that was at a MAC-level University playing baseball. If the NCAA comes down on UM, then they also need to come down on just about every program in every sport.

Your missing amazinblues point lick my balls. He's showing faith in the program against another naysayer. Whether or not anyone supports RR, everyone should support the program. Now head down to EL and give your support to dumbtonio if you don't like the way things are at UM.

I've seen that before. And? Does that make Um any less of a cheater? Does that make RR any less of a crybaby? Does it take RR's name off of the court summons? Does it to anything to ensure that Um won't finish the season amongst the cellar dwellers of the B10? Will it spare Um another beating at the hands of OSU? No? Than I don't care.

Don't you guys speak osu on this board yet. Their NCAA violations (most since 2000 by the way...congrats on that guys) and ex players in prison dont count. We all know that working out on a Sunday is much worse than a player getting paid by boosters. Its not like the Mo C story had any merit I mean just cause old Jimmy T. was busted at his Youngstown job just before his osu gig for doing exactly what Mo C was claiming he did at osu with him is a weird coincidence and nothing more.
I swear if I was an osu die hard I would thank Jesus everyday that Mo C was such a criminal and soiled his own name. If he hadnt and was just an average kid with that story your guys lil program would still be feeling the pain.
Oh and to answer you question the fact that you have more NCAA violations than anyone else since 2000 including UM..... then yes that does make us "less" of a cheater than you. Come on thats just simple math.
