Personally I would've voted for Colt as he put up an unbelievable completion percentage. Sam is good too. I thought this would be a very close vote. I am not of the school that thinks the teams MVP should get the trophy as many announcers on ESPN talk about, rather I think it should go the the "BEST" football player. The team's record should not matter. In years past I think many deserving players should've gotten it over the winner based on the "BEST" player.

The voting was pretty close. It's hard to argue with the most points ever scored in a season, that's an accomplishment.

The Heisman should go to the BEST PLAYER in the country. Out of the 3 finalists, no player meant more to his team than Tim Tebow. Take away Sam and OU still puts up 40 points in a game. Take away Colt and Texas struggles but is still a top 10 team. Take away Tebow and Florida is not even in the NC picture. Not even close. They got the voting reversed. It should have been Tebow, McCoy, and Bradford... Instead it was exactly the opposite.
I found it funny how all my family who happen to be OSU fans believed that Tebow shouldn't have even been mentioned in the same category as Archie Griffin... I responded with a brisk "Archie's trophies don't matter anymore because that was ancient history, right?"

What, Beanie wasn't invited to NY? What a tragedy...

I think Colt should of won it because he does not have the supporting cast the others do. He completed like 70+ % of his passes and led his team in rushing - he also beat Oklahoma. Bradford won it purely on stats. He can thank Bob Stoops for the award. Had it not been for him running up the score on teams and leaving Sam in the game while up by 40 - he would never of won.
Tebow is interesting. His stats pale to that of the other two canidates but his importance to the team cannot be measured. I think people looked at the weapons he has around him along with the suprising struggles of many of the SEC teams and that hurt him.

I think Tebow was the biggest difference maker on his (respective) team, but there's also something about a "two time" Heisman winner that may have persuaded voters to vote for Sam / Colt instead.
I do think that Tebow's going to have to be a front runner for the Heisman in 2009. And, unless someone flies out of the pack (such as Sanchez from USC), he'll be the odds on favorite next season. And, I'm sure there are a few OSU fans out here that think Pryor will be a three time winner of the trophy. Pryor's Heisman campaign begins (possibly with a thud) against Texas.
My personal favorite Stevie Brown...

I think Colt will be the early odds on favorite next year. He has already stated that he will return for his senior year. Tebow said he will test the NFL waters but I do expect him to return as well. Like every year there will be some surprise players show up - TP will not be one of them. Unless the Buckeyes go unbeaten and are in the NC game I just don't see TP having the kind of gaudy numbers it takes for a QB to be considered. I do however think that his junior and senior season will be very Troy Smith like. Maybe he won't win the Hiesman, but he is going to be a special player.

You should take your meds more often, it is good when you talk football for a change instead of smack. You actually can contribute when you want to.
My understanding on the Colt interview I heard on Rivals radio Saturday was that he said that he would test the NFL waters and decide what to do at a later date. He did have a crazy completion percentage this year. If he has a bad year in college next year his stock can drop. There is a really good crop of Junior QB's this year. I believe one or more of the top 3 will come out for the NFL draft.
Pryor-TP has a ton of potential. No doubt he is good with his feet and has good game sense for such a young man but his passing is aweful! No doubt he will improve in this area but fairly or unfairly I expected more out of him with all the hype coming out of HS.

Nut are you freekin kidden me , tp as in pryfoon, go undefeated, what in gods name are you smokin boyyy, your team is going to have a tough time winning the big 10 and your talkin like your team is special, let me ask you are you just stupid or has tressel threatend to cut you off , because only a ccccommmmpllllettte idiot would think osu is somtin special for 2009 , you are looooosing most of your starters , and pryor is going to have to be a one man show and that doesnt equate to hiesman or big10 title let alone 12 - 0 remember you said all your puzzle was together for a title run in 2008 , look what that got you ,a soon to be 10 -3 record

I agree with that, TP had more hype coming out highschool than any player ever pretty much, he should of atleast been the best freshman dual threat QB this year and he wasnt, Robert Griffin of Baylor was. Aside from how he can buy time with his feet TP really didnt impress me much this year.He will be a good player but he wont give us the problems Troy Smith did imo.

We must have watched 2 different TPs this season! What planet are you on, or better yet what are you on period??? I know you're still bitter over RR losing TP to Tressel but come on, let it go!!!, and hang in there he has 3 years left to torture Michigan.
Robert Griffin Baylor, hum, haven't heard his name mentioned at all, strange??????
I understand Michigan has a pretty good DT HS QB that's really leaning hard towards OSU for 2010 as well???? Oh my!!! Would'nt that be a kick in the pants???:D

RR didn't lose Pryor, as he never had him. As has been mentioned numerous times in here, but obviously, you're too freakin' stupid to understand, Michigan was only even on TP's radar AFTER RR became the head coach. RR knew that his chances with TP were pretty much slim and none. He went through the proper steps, but it wasn't to be. The real issue is the classless way that TP was an attention whore putting it off and putting it so that more and more media would stroke his ego!
I watched a few of his games, and I was very impressed by his running, and very unimpressed with his passing ability. I laughed at him when he fumbled the game away against PSU, and when he went to the bench and cried like a bitch!
ps -- why are you back anyway? Don't you know everyone here hates you as this is a University of Michigan message board?

edit: griffin "Key stats: The impressive dual-threat player may do the unthinkable and help the Bears put together a winning season. Griffin set an FBS (i.e., Division I-A) record by starting his career with 209 consecutive pass attempts before he threw his first interception. Griffin passed for 2,091 yards and 15 touchdowns and ran for 843 yards and 13 scores."

He doesn't need facts, he's a TROLL -- all he has to do is say something, then slink back under his rock and giggle and fantasize about how great his Bucks will be, next year, next year, next year!

Im actually dying to see what his response is. cause he cant possibly have one after coming here saying what he just said. all these little bitch trolls run their mouths non stop but the second someone challenges them with facts they are never to be heard from again...bunch of cowards. We just suffered the worst season in UM history and we are all still here ready to take any heat they give us, that my friends is the difference between a UM fan and a TROLL!

I am not a Longhorns fan, per se, even though I live in Austin, but I hope the Horns put a whoppin' on OSU and make a case for a split national championship!
I think winning by 50 aught to do it. The only problem is, that everyone that is against Texas will have a lot of ammo in that the Bucks SUCK this year, and have been overrated and over hyped for several seasons now! So, people are just going to say, "Texas SHOULD beat OSU by 50 since OSU sucks so bad!"

Prior to this year, I would of routed for OSU to win because the only OSU fans i knew were my respectable cousins(who just happened to be unlucky and grew up in ohio). However, since I have been coming to this site and realized what real OSU fans are like, I too hope they get their shit pushed in, which they will cause they are OSU and thats what they do.

Wow, you have been very lucky as to not have much contact with OSU fans. I previously lived next to PSU and while the students are not always classy, the OSU fans I now know make them seem like saints. I classify OSU fans into 3 main categories.
1) Respectable. They cheer for the wrong team but I give them a pass given they do it out of love for competition and are generally decent people.
2) Delusional. No matter the situation, they believe OSU has significantly improved mentally/physically since their last loss and are a brand new team.
example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxWZ4a_JIOk&feature=channel_page
3) Pompous. In essence, the definition of the word.
example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYAb9556Ues
Most of them float somewhere in the 2-3 range, while a select few are 1's. Any OSU fan spending considerable time at a Michigan board for their own amusement is already a 3.

Isn't it obvious, Sten? He's here to be a shining beacon for all Christians and an excellent example to all the Phillistines. Just look how loved and respected he is. He never starts shit or rubs anything in. Did you know that Jesus wears a "What would Plus 1 do" bracelet?

BLASPHEMY!!! I don't follow tUOS football but I do listen to the trolls on here and they report that Tressel has the most talented group of players he has ever had. It sounds like most of his players should actually be playing in the NFL. It is obvious to me that a commission should be formed to investigate how Penn State and Iowa (correction, USC) cheated in their wins over the Buckeyes. I know Texas is outstanding but look at the power that Tressel will bring into that game and his vast experience in playing in bowls. As I said, I don't follow the tUOS games, but they should do, at least, as well as their last two bowl appearances with all their talent. (Texas 50 points!!! No way!! I think something like Texas 49 - Buckeyes 17)
