View Full Version : No show Navy?

I picked up an observation from another old Buckeye fan who said Saturday versus Navy was a "no film" day for Pete Carroll. Meaning don't do anything that you have really been practicing on for September 12th. Keep everybody in the dark about what the game plan is going to be.
Maybe that is why the Navy game was a lot closer than it should have been, wily fox Tressel playing his cards close to the vest (no pun), to be in the best shape possible for the real showdown on Saturday.
It makes sense to me. What say you?

What flavor is that Kool Aid, it looks delicious...?
"No film" day almost became "No win day" - so JT was willing to lose to a service academy to prepare for USC? Sure...

NorCal,
Does that include blocking and tackling? Ok, I don't wish to be too big of a smarta$$ - I can respect hiding the playbook - and if JT instructed his players to "let 'em pick up some yards, and don't tackle or block too soundly" to lull USC into an overconfident mood - and it works. Well, my hat will be off to JT.

JT: "Okay guys, we're going to let their QB run up the middle at will, lead 99 yard scoring drives, throw long passes down the middle, and run short little sweeps that turn into 15 yd gains. Then, to make it interesting, we're going to run the same play 3 times in a row, including 4th and 2, and turn the ball over on downs. Finally, TP is going to throw a fluttering pass down the middle and get picked off, where we'll once again allow an easy drive! Offensive line - don't block! Defensive line - don't pressure the QB! Secondary - pretend like you're slow and can't cover! That should confuse the hell out of Carroll and the boys - we got'em right where we want them!"

God Damn I hope your right. I think Pryor will be much more active in the game. I expect more options and roll outs as well. I think the TE will be used a lot and you will see a ball control type of offense. I'm worried about someone other then Pryor rushing and our defense stopping USC - both legit questions.

So - you're only worried about two things - the O and the D....

What else is there to worry about? Their kicking game is top-notch.

JT is well known for having a vanilla offense. What exactly is he hiding?

That's like saying I bang fat chicks because they were once skinney:D
You're still banging a fat chick, and OSU still did not play well.
