Hot off the lips of the Big Ten Network football analysts...

Why OSU chokes in big games against OOC foes like FL, LSU, and USC is because they play in a conference that is slow and soft!

This validates what I have been saying for a long time. OSU should leave the Big Ten and become an independent. Then we can play who we want, when we want, without being stuck with cricket teams from the likes of __________.:D

Oh sure, then you can get a schedule like ND and play Navy every year!

Yeah, part of the problem is the conference. But based upon the opponents that tUOS plays that are within their control (Miami (OH), San Diego St, Northern Illinois, Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Youngstown St, Akron, Ohio U, Troy, Navy, etc.), all tUOS would do is schedule more ringers.

The Mountain West had a winning record against the Pac10 last year. How come USC knocked uos dicks in the dirt since the Pac10 is so weak?

I think a more appropriate question is "why is norcalturd such a limp-wristed turd-gurgler?"

this notion of OSU choking? give me a break. how is being winless in our last six games against opponents ranked in the top 5 considered choking? if we lost to the bottom 95 schools in division 1, that would be choking. Every team we've lost to has been loaded with NFL first rounders.

But its perceived as choking and perception is 90% of reality. The issue is so many Buckeye fans want to claim being an elite team but in head-to-head games against elite teams they lose time after time.

In order to be the best, you have to beat the best.

That was my starting point on this thread...we have to get out of the B10 in order to play better teams. I wish we were an independent. We have little to gain and much to lose playing teams like MN, IN, PD, etc every year. And then to top it off they primarily schedule OOC cupcakes. A lot of good that does in getting the team ready for elite teams in bowl season.

I don't buy it. UM has had success against SEC teams. Every conference has its share of cupcakes as well which don't help prepare them. The B10 has been in a rut about having power running teams and pro-style offenses that just can't get it done against the upper echelon teams from other conferences. As they change their defenses, types of players and offenses they will become more competitive as a whole. Don't worry about the B10, in a couple of years they will be one of the top 2 or 3 conferences.
