I just wanted to say great game! Definitely no need to hang your head after that performance, just came up a little short!

I agree, no shame in losing that game. The defense showed up and the offense looked good most of the time. But TP is starting to show he is not the game breaking QB everyone thinks he is.

nor does he have the "it" factor in the clutch. IMO TP lost that game, but the D-line and O-line almost won it for them.

I am MOVED by the courage and determination that defensive front 7 of OSU played. It seemed like they were carrying the whole damn game on their shoulders and they almost carried it home.
Gibson, Worthington, Homan, Rose, you guys ROCK and the others are just as good but I can't remember names!
I mean, I NEVER thought I'd see anyone stuff Joe McNight and these guys, these 7 no-name guys, came out and did just that!
We all know USC cheats like a used car dealer on recruiting and the NCAA just looks the other way. All those 5 star recruits on the line, everywhere else? What do you expect OSU to do?
And those 7 guys just about nearly did shove it all up Carroll's ass!
That type of individual effort those players made reminded me of how UM's too small defense stuffed Auburn and Bo Jackson in a losing effort way back in the 80's. We lost 9-7 but not because of the defense. Same here, OSU lost but not because of the defense.
I DO NOT want UM to play these guys. They do that against us and we will need to line up stretchers on the sidelines to carry off our backfield!

I don't think he really hurt them but he didn't come through in clutch situations and still reverts back to old habits when under pressure. I still feel he is just missing as you say the "it" factor. Very gifted athelete but somethings just missing.

OSU D looked badass..Offense looked Zzzzzz
TP is fucking wasted in that vanilla offense..period.
I watched that game and was getting visions of Lloyd watching it slip through their fingers. Honestly..how many times have we seen Carr run the same vanilla BS and let a game slip like that..truely a waste of that kids talent...he is NOT a pocket passer.
I fucking hate OSU, but I honestly wanted them to pull that shit off for the B10 reputation...thanks for nothing.

How many delay of games did they get? He's gifted, but trying to turn him into pro stlye QB is not going to work. He simple cannot throw the ball under pressure. Under pressure he panics, you cannot coach that into him. He does not have it.

If Ohio State runs a QB sneek inside the 1 yard line - we are talking about a solid victory, not a loss. TP is not good enough yet to take over a game mentally. He needs plays that allow him a comfort level and that compliment his abilites - the coaches failed him. He did miss some wide open WR's because he got excited and rushed the throw - but many times the play calling did not help. He was facing 3rd and 8 all night because Tressel likes to pound Boom into the middle of the line every first down. I'm pissed at the coaches - not the kids. They played their asses off all night. To be inside the 5 twice and get 6 points total - is a absolute joke. That HAS to be 14 points - period. That would of caused USC to have to pass exclusively to get back into the game - and we would of abused Barkley if he was turned one dimensional. WE BLEW A GOLDEN CHANCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with this post 100%. It did feel like a Carr coached game.

Yes sir! I will always give credit where credit is due, whether I'm a fan of a team or not. tUOS outplayed USC last night, but they just 'settled' for FG's when they needed TD's. I've stated this numerous times, it was like watching a Lloyd Carr Michigan Team all over again...
That's why I like RichRod, he has no problem going for it on 4th and short, neither did Pete Carroll last night! tUOS has one of the most dangerous players in the country with his legs at QB, roll him out and let him create. Same vanilla offense as the Wolverines were under Carr. That's what pissed me off so much in the Capital One Bowl against Florida. They had the weapons for YEARS and decide to open the playbook and spread it out in Carr's last game. RichRod is the totally opposite and i love it!

Kudos for OSU - at least partial kudos. The Bucks hung in there a lot tougher than I thought they would, and this (and other) threads did a great job of describing the various issues and items that OSU needs to address.
I thought OSU played a solid game - very solid. It makes me think of a couple of things. One, is USC THAT strong of a team? Two, OSU needs to do things with the offense to take advantage of the weapons it has - particularly TP. And three, when is there going to be a real "OC" in Columbus?
Bucks played tough - that game should have been a W instead of an L.

Well I wasn't able to see the game, but after hearing the final score and reading up on what happened, I got to give some credit to tuos. They played much better than I expected and showed their players might actually be able to compete on a big stage now.
That aside, everyone said going in there was no moral victories here, a win was needed. You guys lost, blame tressy, blame carroll, but either way you still are a step short on the national stage.
TP has a year under his belt with what is supposed to be such a "superior" coach, if he can't take over a game by now, he's not the playmaking god you all thought he was. If someone needs 2 years to become a great college player, are they really that great to begin with..?
Good game though, it gave a little respect back to the big 10 at least!

Sure, it is great that tUOS played USC very well and should have won. However, they didn't. At home in front of an insane crowd, against a true freshman QB.
Sorry, there are no moral victories for JT at this stage, with his 5* dream QB and a team that never rebuilds, only reloads. tUOS should have buried USC, if only the coaching would have been better.
