Who does everyone think is more likely to cover the spread against their cupcake MAC school this week?

UM is favored by 24 v. EMU; a team that has only scored 38 points while giving up 27 per game and is 0-2

OSU is favored by 20.5 v. Toledo, a team that has put up 34.5 points per game while giving up 90(!) and is 1-1.

i think the UM score will be somewhere in the area of 31-10 while the OSU score will be more of a shootout with OSU taking it around... 42 - 24.

this would mean i think OSU is more likely to cover, if only because their spread is slightly smaller and i don't see Rodriguez trying to embarass English.

thoughts?

I think Michigan will win "bigger" than OSU, and I would say that Michigan is more likely to cover than OSU. The reason isn't because I'm a homer - it's because Toledo's offense seemed to work pretty well against Colorado. And, I also believe that Toledo's going to go after "big brother". I'm not saying EMU isn't thinking the same thing about Michigan - but, I do think that Michigan's O will be more difficult for EMU to stop than OSU's will be for Toledo to stop.

I never pick Tuos to cover. The onetime i did last year, it bit me in the ass. Never again.

TPI,

Ouch - that's gotta hurt. But, getting bit in the a$$ by a Buckeye - it doesn't sound too unusual...

So you're saying they're underwhelming, playing below expectations, etc.?

For OSU to score 42 they will have to pass the ball. Toledo will stack the box and pryor will unleash the loose cannon. If OSU wins it will be more like 28-17

I think the Ohio State game has the potential to go either way. The Bucks could very well come out flat after the horrible loss to USC last week and sleep walf through a close game - or they can come out pissed and explode. I will be at the game either way.

I just hope Ohio State realizes that there is a lot of football left this year - and they still have the chance to have a great season. They still have a game with Penn State who should be a top 3 or 4 team by the time they play so they can still move up pretty high. College football has always been about when you lose - not if you lose. If Ohio State can win out then a top notch BCS bowl will be waiting.

Followed by another top notch lopsided loss....

Nut,

Let me get this straight - OSU is playing Toledo. And, you're stating the game could go either way. And, then you say - that OSU will wind up in a top notch BCS bowl. I assume if Toledo wins ... and wins out - they'll be going to this "top notch" BCS bowl.

Regarding the timing of losses in college football. As a Buckeye fan, I'd get ready for them. You've already had one early season loss. I'm betting the Buckeyes will balance things out - and lose again in mid-season, and again at the end of the season...

I believe I picked both not to cover.

It wouldn't really surprise me if UM didn't cover as well. I can see UM going out and scoring a bunch with Tate and the other first stringers and then end up sitting for 3 quarters. Eastern will be a good test for Denard to see if he can gain any confidence throwing the ball as well as running the offense. I think UM will give up a few points when the backups are getting some work in, but I still think UM wins by 2 TDs.

TPI,

You bring up a fair point. Personally, I believe Michigan win's by at least 17 - or they should. That is the margin that I consider "safe" in college - a three possession difference. We should open a fair lead.. and in the second half - EMU will work the lead down - but, not less than 17 - I hope...

The Bucks - hmm.. that could be a very tight game.

Im saying it could go either way as to how Ohio State will play - not if they will win. I think the Buckeyes win - period. It's just a matter if they come out focused after last weeks loss or if they come out flat. If they play flat and Toledo is excited (like they will be) then the game could be closer then the experts expect.
