So Newsome committed to Penn State today. It seems like the Big Ten will see a sea change in play over the next 3-4 years, with Pryor, Newsome, Beaver/Forcier in the backfields (among others). Hopefully it also translates into being more competitive WITHOUT giving up our defensive roots.

once teams .coaches ect saw the direction michigan was heading in terms of the spread , im not surprised to see programs changing the same way. michigan is a school of leaders and have chose to leave behind systems that are outdated like ohio states or lloyds old system, we are alot like ef hutton , when we speak people listen and of course follow. , the big 10 style of play reminds me of those old vibrating football games that never seemed to do anything , richrod and michigan are setting the example for the big10 , and i dont mean 3 and 9, go blue and congrats to penn state on getting kevin newsom, he will make our league better..

I have another QB to add to the list, Keith Nichol the former backup QB to Sam Bradford at Oklahoma, transferred to MSU at the end of last year and will most likely be the starter next year. John L. tried to get him to come to MSU to take Stanton's place in his spread offense but when he was fired Keith committed to OU. Dantonio re-recruited him when Keith was looking to transfer.

So it looks like the Big Ten is starting to "modernize" with the addition of these spread type offenses. But I still think they will be more run-based than pass-based like those of the Big 12. What do you guys think?

I'm gonna be pissed if Newsome turns out to be a real stud and Forcier/Beaver are not as good as advertised...I don't see that happening however, I think Tate is as good as advertised.
