Sam Webb said on the Recruiting Roundup this morning (YES!!! The podcast is back up!) that he spoke to many defensive recruits last night and for the most part, they are all still solid with their committments. The only one he spoke to that we a little shaky was Thomas Gordon. Gordon had a great relationship with Shafer and was bothered by his resignation. He said that he is still committed to Michigan and is not taking any other visits but the door is now cracked open slightly. Other Wolverine coaches have spoken to him and assured him that he is wanted and needed. This kid is a great athlete and can't be judged by his 3 star rating at safety. This was the first year he played this position and has much up side.

In other recruiting news it appears we are still in the game for some serious O linemen including Freeman.

Sam Webb feels that Big Will is going to be our next commit.

Webb is late, Gordon already updated his Fbook status yesterday saying he might need to reopen recruitment. I hope he stays, if we are moving to a 3-3-5, its more of an oppurtunity for him to see the field sooner than later.

Webb thinks this is one of those guys that will have to be recruited up until the signing. Webb spoke of the 3-3-5 rumors and said there is no definate word either way. With all of the spread offenses in the Big Ten, perhaps it is time to pull the trigger on it. I know it did not fare well in the Purdue game but it only had one week of practice before going into action.
