Hard to say at this point as we don't know the severity of the injury. I would say we won't really know until he takes the field and until he takes that first hit.

Good point from Dr. Saturday.

Fans were already texting Meyer to get Tbone out of the game before he got hit. FU already had the game in hand with a comfortable lead. What was he thinking keeping him in? The kid already is playing with the flu. Why keep him in to run up the score? He shouldn't have been playing to start with. Why risk injury to your best player, against a heavy underdog opponent you have owned forever?

It is kind of scary when casual fans seem to know more, show more sense than the millionaire coaches do. Coaches can't see the forest for the trees, they are too close to the action?

Am I missing something here? Fans can text Meyer during the game? Does he actually look at them if you can?

As far a Tebow, you can cut off his legs, arms, and head and he would still pass for more than 0 yards in the first half. Rain or not.

his reaction to the hit reminded me of last basketball season when griffin got concussed. he was puking and rubbing his temples, just like tebow yesterday. and if i remember correctly, griffin came back and was essentially unstoppable the rest of the season. i know this is a little different - being football - but i would expect the same old tebow next game against lsu, especially with the bye week.

problem with getting a bad concussion is its much easier to get another one afterwards. look at QB's like trent green, troy aikman, and some others who after mutiple concussions had to consider their own health over their careers. its definitely something that will be in the back of his mind as he's playing.

The potential for a second concussion is what the key is. I would know / assume that though Tebow has had minor injuries in the past - he hasn't suffered from a concussion before. This was a Grade 3 concussion - and, if I'm anyone in Tebow's family - I make sure that he takes care of himself before going back on the field. Tebow welcomes contact - and what made this play especially dangerous for the future is this - the contact was not made on a running play - Tebow was preparing to throw in the pocket.

Thanks for recognizing my talents!

I too would like to know how fans have Meyer's cell number and why would the coach be looking at his phone during the game? I needs to get me some coach cell numbers so I can text some of them.

It just shows that the threads speculating about Tate Forcier being knocked out are silly. Anyone QB is in danger of getting knocked out at any time, big or small. So far, Tate has lasted longer than Tebow and Bradford.

There has been long-term research (mainly at the NFL level) showing that a player who gets a concussion is 6 times more likely to get another one while playing the sport. Concussions are most critical and more serious at the high school level because of the player's physical maturity at the time. I think the medical protocol for Tebow is generally 3 weeks before playing again. I am puzzled that he wasn't taken immediately to the hospital for radiographs rather than sitting on the sidelines for some time. You guys would be shocked to learn how many people suffering concussions die within 2 or 3 days of the injury, due to internal hemorrhaging or swelling. That is why they immediately take radiographs in order to assess the extent of trauma.

I think the fact that Tebow lost consciousness would have had the medical staff being very aggressive - and protective - with Tebow's assessment and treatment.

I am glad Tebow and the Gators do not play this weekend. I would hate to see him be rushed back too quickly. The bad news is that they play the next weekend vs. LSU in Baton Rouge. I am sure the Gators would rather be playing a home game vs. Slippery Rock.

Many people have poor opinions of CUM (HA!), but I don't believe for a second that he would risk Tebow's health for a football season. Nothing on the football field is worth risking severe brain injury.

If that's the case why did he start him, when he was suffering from the flu?
Especially against KY? They were practically begging for an injury.

Nor Cal, you're absolutely right. Just between you and me, Urban was really hoping Tebow would leave on a stretcher. Are you really that slow? Tebow had the flu.......not something that could threaten the rest of his life. It was a freak accident! If that lineman's knee isn't right there at that time, Tebow walks of the field and nobody thinks anything more about that sack.

Gator, you don't play CFB with the flu. You are supposed to be in bed trying to ride it out. The flu kicks ass. You feel deathly sick with it. Not the same as a cold which is debilitating enough.

Being woozy, nauseous, etc was a perfect prescription for getting in the way of an injury.

He shouldn't have been playing, period. Ask any doctor!

Technically, Tebow had a repiratory issue...not the flu.

Guys play sick all the time.

Yeah, remember when MJ had the flu in the playoffs against the Celtics? One of the single greatest games ever played by one guy.
