Michigan St. Favored by 2 over Michigan. What do you guys think?
1-3, vs. 4-0. Very strange. I could see this being a pick'em game. But not favoring MSU.

I actually think it is a good call. If I were puting money on this game I would really think of picking msu. This is such a classic trap game it isn't even funny.

Usually "Trap games" are just that, Traps. Was Washington favored over USC? See what I mean? I do see your point though. Hopefully we blow them out and get more Respect. But if we do it's "MSU was 1-3, now 1-4, your team is overrated.-Nut".

MSU can't say that Vegas "disrespects" them. And, for Michigan, I think it's just a bit of fuel added to their fire.
I agree that this game could be too close to call - and, IMO, the difference will be the Michigan D and turnovers.
I'm also wondering whether the "stat of the series" that the team with the higher rushing yardage will win.

Within 2 point spread is a 50/50 chance of winning for ether team.
I just don't see it if for any other reason MSU is finding ways to lose and UM is finding ways to win. - Bad call IMO.
Here is the preview from Phil Steele
#22 MICHIGAN at MICHIGAN ST
In ‘07 Mich escaped 28-24 here and after UM RB Hart made his infamous “Little Brother” comments. Last year MSU won in Ann Arbor for the first time since 1990, 35-21. CLICK HERE FOR LAST 12 YEARS MATCHUPS. UM had won 6 in a row prior, including the last 3 in E Lansing. Mich survived Indy as true frosh QB Forcier hit his second gm winning TD pass this year with 2:29 left and the Wolves hung on thanks to a controversial interceptions as IU had the yardage edge (467-362). Forcier (168 yards per game, 62%, 7-2 ratio) hasn’t been 100% the last 2 weeks (ribs, shoulder) and this is his first road start. The Wolves’ D has struggled allowing 34 points per game and 479 yards per game vs 2 BCS conference foes this year. MSU had Big Ten title dreams in August but is now 1-3 after last week’s misleading 38-30 loss in which the Spartans scored 2 TD’s in last 2:16. Both QB’s played with Nichol (PS#7) throwing 2 late TD’s but also 2 interceptions and the spot remains in flux. MSU has allowed 300 pass yards per game (69%) with a 10-2 ratio to FBS teams. Call for Michigan to grab an important win on the road and stay unbeaten.
PHIL’S FORECAST: Michigan 28 MICHIGAN ST 24

Records don't mean anything in this game and being that the game is at home for state, I can see why they are favored.
It Makes sense to me, State is better than what their record leads you to believe. Michigan better bring their A game because I think we are going to see a fired up State team this weekend. I hope I'm wrong!

Michigan was favored by 2 points on Monday according to USA Today. So everyone must be betting on MSU for the point spread to flip by 4 points only two days later. The more people keep on betting on MSU, the higher the point spread will go up. That's all the point spread really is. It has nothing to do with who will win. The bookies just want to break even.
Personally I think this game is a tossup. If I had to pick I would take Michigan in a close one. Michigan's defense has been playing poorly so far. The big question is is Michigan's defense really this bad or do they just have to make some adjustments to make it an average defense at best. This game should be a good indicator of that cause of all the emotion that goes into this game.
But also remember that as much as everyone has been talking on how poorly Michigan's defense has played, no one has been even close to stopping Michigan's offense. The offense is definitely Michigan's trump card just like the war on terror was Bush's trump card. It's like there's a lot of weakneses with Michigan but their trump card should be just enough to win most of these games. A couple more of those breakaway runs by Carlos Brown and Minor would probably be the diffference in this game. Or if MSU decides to shut the run game down they still have to deal with Forcier to all those speed receivers and the great catches by Koger. Then you have the Denard Robinson factor who could come in and break away on any given play. To tell you the truth I don't think MSU has faced any team with this much speed.

I think the line is fair.. MSU is 3-5 plays from being 4-0. They are not a 1-3 team imho, they should be 3-1 right now at worst.
I think this turns into another shootout, 38-35 UM with a game winning TD drive by Tate with under 3 minutes left again. :)

The line is fair.. This is still a rivalry game no matter what the records or stats are. Whatever team comes out and excutes for four quarters will win. I see Michigan struggling.. But winning after they make halftime adjustments. 41-31

I think its fair. Good plus young/offense with freshman QB in his first road game in a rivalry game, below average D against a decent Spartan O.
Plus, it gives us underdog status ;). I like being the underdog.

I can see us being the underdog in this one. When MSU is clicking they are very dangerous. I just hope MSU keeps their tradition of "snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory" for one more game.

Well the spread on covers.cxm is UM+3.5 now and based on where they pull their stats from they have 63% of the wagers on UM, but believe me that doesn't really mean anything. M St. appears to be getting the home field 3 or so and due to the rivalry the bookmakers probably have no idea how this one is going to go down

Sagrain has Mich a favorite. However since this is their road test and MSU is really backe dinto a corner I think MSU -2 sounds ok. MSU really needs this game, if they lose it their season could be lost adn a typical MSU plunge may occur.
Hoepfully RR will keep the boys sharp & focused. I think Michigans season gets defined by the next two games. Not that PSU & oSU are not bigger games but I think the next two will be the difference between 8-4 & 10-2 and possibly competing for the conference (even though I still think we are a year away).

I just don't see it like others do. MSU is a sorry ass team once again, only this year with a little more hype than most. They couldn't stop CMU for christ sakes. Dantonio folloows the Jim Tressel ideaology of football. But there is one problem he doesn't have the horses Tressel does and never will.
