I'm not pointing fingers...it's blatant...what the heck was that? It was totally un-characteristic of RR. He is agressive. This looked like Lloyd tring to protect. It should not have come down to a 4th quarter tie to force it into OT. Our offense can be explosive when on the freakin' field...but we were never on the field...& D-Rob was only in for like 2 plays in the 2nd half??? Sparty switched QB's every 2 plays? We have that advantage also..why not use it?

offensive line was just that and receivers dropping everything. not the coaches fault or the QBs for that matter. just a loss and nothing more at this point.

The best rushing attack in the Big10 was absent from todays' game and I think alot of it had to do with the lack of blocking by the O-Line. Tate was running all over the place every time he got the ball from center.

Not sure what to say about the Defense. I think the D-Line is the best part of it, which is not saying much. Brandan Graham is a beast, Roh is coming along nicely but still only a freshman. Our LB's suck, and our secondary is just as bad if not worse. I am guess that GR is seeing something in practice that will not allow our CB's to play tight coverage. They are playing to keep everything in front of them which means the WR's and QB can have the 7-8 yard pass plays all they want. I dont get it, at what point do you try something else because this Defense is not working...

Tate is the man though, that last drive was simply awesome. The INT in OT I could have done without, but again it was a freshman mistake. He hasnt had many of them yet, so he was do for just 1. And Nut, did you see how Tate could throw the ball in a rain storm, didnt seem to hard for him like it did for TP last week when he had 0 pass yrds in the first half.

Oh well, must move on to next week...thoughts?

Agree Bighouse the offense just did not have it today. Any team who's offense doesn't show up until halfway through the fourth quarter is going to have a tough time winning games.

As for 1osunut, for the longest time I thought you were just an asshole who gets off trying to get Michigan fans worked up. After reading some of your postings today, I no longer feel this way. My thoughts are this....if we do not get the offensive aggressive in close games (or behind games for that matter) we will not win. The defense cannot stop the run. They showed that against Indiana & again today. Michigan State had the ball in the 1st half for like 10 freakin' minutes with 14 first downs?? Yes, when our offense is clicking it only takes a couple of plays to score...but what the heck about the defense??? Good grief!! After so long...no matter what Barwis does to them they are still going to get tired. Go for it man...it's the only thing we have going for us.

While the D did seem to give up a lot of yards, if you had told me prior to the start of this game that MSU would only score 20 points (pending overtime of course) I would have been thrilled. Sure the loss sucks, the offense was subpar for much of 3 quarters but they put themselves in a position to win the game and that's all you should want.

The absurd expectations some people have for this team are laughable. 10-2? Are you serious? This team is still ahead of my expectations, and all things considered, I was happy with today's game. Tate's first road test and while he did struggle at times, he didn't look awful. Iowa is going to be a very winnable ballgame.

Michigan is playing bad and winning or losing close ones, which is better than last year, when Michigan played bad and lost big. I don't know why the running game wasn't attempted more, or why Mesko decided to go for it on 4th. The loss of Molk has been devastating and the offense hasn't truly clicked since.

I'm not on the ledge.....Yes, before the season started...yes, no way - it was going to be a blowout....after the season started...we should have had this. I can attribute my assumptions on how far RR has come with this team & the talent level of the players he's recruited. This team has progressed LEAPS & BOUNDS over what was expected of them pre-season...this team is going to be be great! They are already amazing this season. We will be a force to be reckoned with next season...but these guys have the ability & potential to be a FORCE that is reckoned with NOW! Playcalling held them back today...& poor defensive performance.

I'm disappointed in the loss. We could have beat MSU. They played a good game, our defense was brutal, and our offense should have shown up earlier. While MSU probably isn't considered a "good" team, they aren't bad either. Plus, playing IN east lansing where MSU arguably had more to prove with this game than we did, I expected nothing less than a knock-down, drag out fight.

Let's hope some lessons can be learned here and as we get ready for a tough game at Iowa.

I can't say I'm too dissapointed with losing 26-20 in overtime. The state of our program is much better than a year ago and really I did not see an undefeated season. Truthfully MSU was probably the best 1-3 team in the country with two losses coming at the very end. I'm sure Michigan rebounds and comes out with some fire next week against a good Iowa team that has less offensive firepower than MSU. Next year we go back to yearly beat downs of Sparty with them coming to the big house. We all knew this would not be a perfect season.

Yes, we all knew it would not be a perfect season, but this game was truelly within our grasp. Not, dissing Tate at all...he was not on the field long enough most of the game to make a difference...That freakin' fake punt though...that is still eating me. What on earth?? All those 4th downs when we could have gone for it & just punted. Where was the confidence? Where was the aggressiveness?? It wasn't shown in the coaching & nor on the field today.

dantonio and RR played in the big east also with rodriguez winning every time. dantonio has had several years to field a 2-3 team, rod has had 1.4 seasons to field a 4-1 team.

This is only his 3rd year at MSU, and I think I read somewhere that all time Dantonio vs RR is 2-2. That includes that Big East because when Dantonio was at Cincy they were in Conference USA for the first year.

We should have won is a lot better than going up and straight up getting our asses kicked. Atleast we can look at next week feeling like we can win. Would have been a lot worse to have been beaten by 3 or four touchdowns. What would the rest of our season have looked like then?

To have been dominated most of the game and come so close to winning is an achievement in itself. This is the year we lose some heartbreakers, win some we shouldn't and generally begin to see what this offense is capable of most of the time.

Preseason I said we'd lose to MSU, Iowa and PSU so I'm not too shocked.

I hate to lose. Winning is everything. My dad always told me "it doesn't matter if you win or lose, but if you lose, you can't live in my house anymore."

Losing sucks.. last year was a suicidal year for me concerning Michigan football (not exactly.. but you get what I mean.)

The thing I like about this year's team and this loss is that WE HAD A CHANCE TO WIN AT THE END. No matter how bad we played, we still had a chance to win. If we have a chance to win every game, then we will win most of them. You can win them all.. But I am extremely confident in our team's ability to play with any team.

OH! and by the way, Notre Dame beat Washington. Washington beat USC. USC beat OSU. This means Michigan beats OSU if games were played on paper. I don't know if we'll win or lose that game, but I do know we'll have a chance to win it. Whether we win it or lose it depends on ourselves. The only people who can beat Michigan.. is Michigan.

Washington beat a USC team that was limping due to the pounding they took in Columbus. They did not have their starting QB or Mays. Both played yesterday @ Cal and won 30-3. Wait to you see what they do to the Irish in two weeks. That was the USC team Ohio State faced - not the watered down Washigton version.
