I don't know when his contract expires, but - despite the early wins in recruiting and on the field, the Zooker just doesn't seem to be getting it done in games anymore.
I think the Illini faithful are feeling what Gator felt abot five years ago...

Coach Zook has proven to be an excellent recruiter. Wasn't he the defensive coordinator at Florida (where he excelled to the point of being the choice to replace Steve Spurrier as head coach)?
If Michigan continues to struggle on the defensive side of the ball, is there any possibility Coach Rodriguez would fire Coach Robinson and replace him with Zook?

He is an excellent recruiter, but he was actually demoted to special teams coach before regaining his position as DC. At first, I just didn't understand the thought process in the hire after Spurrier - Stoops, Shanahan, then out of nowhere......Zook. WTF? An NC winner, to Super Bowl winner, to DC for one of the worst defenses in the NFL that year. In retrospect, however, Jeremey Foley looks like a mad genius. Since no top-notch guy was available, I think Foley hires a great recruiter and says F it, I'll give the guy a chance. If he succeeds, I look great. If he fails, the cupboard will be full, but we won't have any trouble getting him out of here in a couple years when a great coach is hopefully available (Urban).
I was as patient as I could be with the Zooker, chalking up his first year to transition (although I couldn't understand turning a supposed NC contender into 8-5)...but hey, look at RR's first year. However, I got off the excuse bus after the second game of his second year - the 4th qtr 33-10 letdown in Miami. I swear a single first down would have won that F'ing game. He then continued to confirm my suspicions with every offensive gameplan for the rest of his FL career. My simple thoughts on the matter are.......that Zook SUCKS!
