Ok I have no idea what this kid is going to produce in college football, but, WOW! Every time I see a highlight it amazes me. He might be a little small but his elusiveness and speed are incredible. Im about positive with Ms depth at RB he will redshirt but I would love to see him play as a freshman

Fitz is no doubt an exciting player as are Smith and Jones. I think we have some great RB's in this class. I am most pumped up about Jeremy Gallon however. This kid does it all! I think we will see him in slot doing many reverses and direct snaps.

I have to imagine that RR is like a kid in a candy store when it comes to recruiting -- it seems like he's able to bring in more talent in one class that he was able to get in four classes at WVU!

I have a feeling we're going to see something like what we're seeing from Oklahoma in the very near future -- seemingly endless skill, speed, and creativity coming from all directions, and out an endless variety of formations!

I just envision an offense when NOBODY knows who is going to get the ball -- he's gonna run, no he's gonna pass, no he's going to hand off, oh wait...it's a reverse! Every team that I've seen run this offense well has had a few great players -- a QB, a RB, and a good WR. Imagine what it's going to be like when RR has 3 amazing WRs, 2 studly RBs, and a talented QB on the field AT THE SAME TIME!

Everyone is so worried about the QB, and I think that obviously that was our weakness this year, but I have contended all along that to have a great spread offense, especially when you have a whole cast of amazing skill players, each of whom can break the game open, all you need is a competent QB that can make the defense respect the deep ball, and a bit of running skill.

You give a guy like RR this many tools, and he's going to create a masterpiece -- and it's only going to get better as more and more top recruits see how they can come to Michigan, and RR will showcase their talents, and turn them into STUDS!

I think the future is so bright at Michigan, I am going to get some new SHADES! LOL!

Well said Sten!

This year had A LOT of growing pains, especially on the offensive side of the ball. EVERYTHING was new to these players and the coaches we dealing with a lot of uncertainty with the amount of the experience returning this year. 10 new starters is hard to overcome and it didn't help that Michigan played a BCS-bound Utah team right out of the gate. Michigan played them tough and came up short. The turnovers were out of hand, I just couldn't believe my eyes with the amount of turnovers Michigan had this year.

Special teams had bright spots here and there but once again the turnovers were the deciding factor. Just unnecessary turnovers too, 'catch the ball first and then make a move'...

I can't wait to see these skill players making plays. It will be something I have never witnessed before watching my beloved Wolverines. The speed they are recruiting is something I can't wait to see in the open field. Michigan has had it's fair share of skilled athletes on offense but I don't think they were as explosive as what we are going to witness in the coming years. The future is bright and Michigan WILL rise again. They will be much-improved next year and it will continue...

Was this not what you guys said about Sam McGuffie ?

I was excited about him and wish he still would have stayed. 3 concussions and problems at home are A LOT more important than football. I wish him well, he suffered a lot this season.

I still think he would have shined in the slot, let him take hits from DB's and not DL and LB's. Maybe he wouldn't have suffered so many concussions but obviously that's a concern wherever he goes. That many concussions definitely raises Red Flags!!!

I was on the mcguffie bandwagon just like the rest of you guys and still wish he would have stayed, but I'd like to know the rest of your opinions on this. Every time I watch mcguffie in games this year, something stood out at me about his running style when ever he touched the ball and it took me 3/4 of the season to figure out what that was and my conclusion was this. Sam was a good north south runner and ran like hell, but when he faced being tackled he never became the hitter or lowered the boom to punish the tackler like say adrian peterson or d mcfadden. Seems like the defender just got to tee off on him. Thoughts?

McGuffie isn't known for running people over, just look at his size. He would probably get hurt even more so he had to be elusive and avoid the tackles as much as possible.

No way you can compare Peterson and McFadden to McGuffie. McGuffie just doesn't posess the size that those two have. Those two guys were 'complete backs' and what I mean by that is; they had the speed and the POWER to either make guys miss or punish them by lowering their shoulder. McGuffie is just too small to have that type of power. He MAY get away with that on a CB every once in a while but that's about it. I would consider Shaw and Minor a 'complete back'. I would compare McGuffie to a Noel Devine type RB. Dangerous is open space but won't punish someone by lowering a shoulder...

valid response, but I wasn't exactly comparing him to AP or DMC, in the sense of size or running style, just using them as examples. My statement was based on the situation when you know damn well there is going to be contact and by becoming the hitter, as a RB. Seems like you're better protected as an RB that way. It appears that this comes naturally to most. Not sure about his size, but Shaw exemplified that skill when I watched him run.

Okay, I get your point! But, what if you know you're going to lose the battle at contact, is it better to brace yourself and absorb the hit or just throw your body into the tackle and hope for the best? McGuffie isn't running over 185lb LB's anymore. He's running into 230lb+ LB's with speed just as fast as him. I think he is in a lose-lose situation...

It's like riding a jerky roller-coaster. They tell you not to be stiff and try to relax as much as possible. That way you don't hurt your neck as much by trying to prevent the jerkyness, BUT it's a roller-coaster and you just react accordingly. It's hard to be relaxed on a roller-coaster so people tense up and come off the ride holding their necks.

That might be a bad example but i've seen it many of times living in Cincinnati and going to Kings Island. The workers tell you to relax but I always see people grabbing their necks after every ride. You always want to be the hitter and not the hitt-e. But natural instinct comes into play when a 185lb RB is a few seconds away from being hit by a 240lb LB, fear or no fear; McGuffie is PROBABLY going to lose that battle...

That's cool man. I've never said anything about pick 'em outside of that thread. I had close to 1000 posts before pick'em ended.
