Outside of home town picks, who would get the nod as America's favorite football team?

ND?

USC?

MI?

Other?

I can tell you who Northern Californians like, and it would surprise you.;)

Boise State. People are still talking about the upset of Oklahoma.

You would be shocked to find out that at least here in Northern California America's team is.................Michigan!?

It's about 25% SC, 25% Cal, 25% Michigan!?, then 25% everybody else. I can't believe how many people you see running around in blue with the big yellow M. Not just alums either. Extended family of alums, or people who say they just like the unis. Whatever.

Caveat. They all looked really depressed last year. You need to give them something to cheer about.;)

I would think America's team would be ND just because they've always had the most national presence. But teams like USC, UM, Texas, etc also have a large following from non-traditional fans.

I'm with 704. It has to be ND. How else do you explain their own television deal. Nobody else has that.

Caveat. They are probably also the most hated team in America because they have been getting the benefit of the doubt for 20 years.

ND is one of those teams where you just love them or you hate them. Nobody is indifferent to ND. That's why so many people watch them on TV. That's why they have their own TV deal. I love to watch ND lose every weekend.. I've had a disappointing season for that.. except for my Wolverines!!

I'm indifferent! I could care less whether or not ND wins or loses. They are a nobody team to me. Never could figure out what all the fuss was about with them. Catholic school? SWTF?

They had a question similar to this on family feud yesterday, the john ohurley one so it was current. "Name a college a football player wants to go to."

UM was #2, above USC at #4. Florida was #1 I think.

Of course, tuos was no where to be seen on the list. :)

I'd believe that, visited recently, it is ridiculous how many Blue fans there are. Just try wearing your gear and venturing out, I get high-fived and 'Go-Bue'-ed everytime. They have like 2-3 different Alumni football watching venues in the Bay Area alone, and they're all packed during games.
