With the Beaver decommittment, look for Michigan to put a hard push on four-star athlete Denard Robinson of Deerfield Beach, Fl. Robinson is being recruited as a wr/db, but he wants to have a chance to play qb and with the Beaver decommittment, Michigan can offer him that. Georgia and Florida are the two biggest hurdles for Michigan. Robinson will be in for the Jan. 9 through Jan 11 visit. Also with Beaver's decommittment, this probably helps with the 2010 qb from Inskter Devon Gardner, who will be according to Sam, a five-star duel-threat qb. Plus, Robinson is open to moving to a different position. It doesn't look good for Michigan to get into the Boyd sweepstakes because Boyd wants a passing offense and not a run first offense. But Sam did say that this could change. Also coming in for a visit on Jan. 9 will be four-star DT Sam Montgomery, LSU leads for him. Three-star OT from Cleveland Henry Conway, will be in for a visit on Jan.9; Michigan is behind Cincinnati and Illinois on this one. Also coming in for a Jan. 9 or 16 visit is four-star wr Jeron Stokes, who committed to Tennessee, but has since taken visit to Florida and others. Auburn committment three-star wr Trvante Stallworth, will be in for a visit on Jan. 9. Also coming in for a visit is four-star olb Barkevious Mingo from the New Orleans area. LSU is the main contendar for him. Three-star DB Demontre Hurst, from Lancaster, TX; will be in for a Jan. 9 visit. Three-star db Mike Edwards from Clevleand Glenville High (O$U'$ farm team); will be in for a Jan. 9 visit. Edwards will not be getting an O$U offer and he is visiting Illinois and Cincinnati. Five-star mlb Jalani Jenkins will be in for Jan. 23 visit weekend.

There will be no more Go Blue Wolverine hour till after Jan. 1 and the last recruiting roundup is on Tuesday. So my last recruiting roundup will be tuesday and it will combine Mondays too. Untill than, stay safe and warm and remember the glass is half full not half empty

Very nice rockie. I'd love to see UM get Robinson. As much as I like Stallworth, Robinson seems to be an amazing athlete. Nice to see UM getting a visit from Jenkins. Although, most everyone projects him to end up at PSU or Florida, with Florida edging out PSU right now. Let's hope JJ has a great time in AA. If RR can pull in JJ, this defense could be straight sick in the next few years. I wonder how the DC situation will play in his decision. Hopefully, we'll land a big name hire.

Yea, good job Rock! I love following the Roundup. Denard Robinson was in the picture earlier in the process and I have to believe that we stand a good chance at him. I would believe that he would be the one we would focus in on the most for a second QB recruit. It is good to see that U-M is getting a visit from Jenkins. I also like the fact that we are getting one of his last visits and will be fresh in his mind. Maybe a Barwis pep talk will land him.

I REALLY hope we get Gardner next year.

you never know w/ Jenkins though. He wants to get into sports medicine field and was very impressed w/ Barwis. i just wonder how much it hurts Mich's chances w/o a DC on staff. i wish Rod would hire someone right away

I would think (hope) that we would have a DC hired by the time JJ visits in.

As long as we are getting a visit there is a chance. He would be a huge addition to the team.

I was just told JJ canceled his visit here, he was a long shot to begin with.

Bummer, I really like this kid. He's a hard hitter. Now I hope he goes to Florida and not Penn State.

Yes, please. Although we have a few DB/LB guys in this class already, we need some "ready to go" LB guys.

I see Denard Robinson has already visited Florida and says that will be his measuring stick. Says he can see himself fitting in RR's offense.

Sam Webb said that Robinson is by far the best runner of all the QB's we have recruited this year. He said some of the others may be better at passing but he is far and away the best runner.

Sam still has a strong, strong gut feeling that Big Will is coming to Michigan. Mostly because Big Will is trying to get his test scores as fast as he can because Michigan starts classes the first week of Jan. As far as recruiting quarterbacks goes, looks like four-star Ath Denard Robinson will be coming in for a Jan 9 visit; he is the fastest qb of Forcier, Beaver, Newsome and Boyd, but needs a lot of work on his passing skills. Michigan probably has a real good shot at him with the Beaver decommittment and the fact that Robinson wants to have a shot at qb and other schools are recruting him as a DB/WR. It kind of sounds like it is Robinson or bust as far as recruiting another qb. Also, AJ Westernoff (sp), is being offered as a preferred walkon. Four-star OLB Barkevious Mingo, from the New Orleans area, will be coming in for a visit Jan. 9; and Michigan has a real good shot at getting him. Fred Jackson is his recruiter. Expect LSU to play dirty tricks. Four-Star WR Jeron Stokes, Tennessee Committment, is coming in for a Jan. 9 visit and Michigan has a real good shot with the Boyd decommittment and the fact that Tennessee has stated that they are going a different way in their offensive style. Jelani Jenkins cancelled his visit. Have a nice Christmas

He just canceled the visit; he didn't drop us. Plus, as soon as the new DC is announce, that may change some things. A big name could draw some interest from other recruits as well. UM was a long shot to begin with, so I'm not getting overly excited about JJ.

i was j/w if rocky or anyone else had gotten a chance to see robinson throw. i watched him on youtube and he seemed to have a vastly better cannon than feagin did at this time last year. the only thing is, it was a highlight reel and he seemed to move around in the pocket a bit too much as opposed to making the more more timing based throws that we have seen RR use for Threet and likely would use for Forcier. still he seemed capable of making enough downfield throws to keep defenses from putting 9 in the box on us.

what i do like about this kid is that he can flat out FLY, and i would love to see him running some zone read with minor and brown in the backfield.

getting this kid would definitely make me say Shavodrick WHO???

Anyone know who or how accurate this 'THE KNOWLEDGE' dude on mgoblog is? He says we've received a silent commitment from a 2010 QB recruit, who will announce in Mid-Jan. Gardner?

There's no way Gardner announces this early. Plus, doesn't he like tuos???

I don't see this happening. Someone is trying to start another rumor.

it's just someone trying to start a rumor. it wasn't even the real THE KNOWLEDGE because he had a period (.) after his name, like so (THE KNOWLEDGE.) where as the regular THE KNOWLEDGE does not have a period, like so (THE KNOWLEDGE). lolz.

He better not goto tuos, as that would be yet another huge blow by tressy (pun intended)

I don't think he is a tuos lean at all. I think he is going to look at ALL options out there. My feeling is if he were to choose today, it would be Blue.

If Boyd goes to osu, I really don't see him there next year. I think that Boyd is going to Oregon though, so it will be interesting. It's way to early for this kid to commit though, I think that he is going to take it down to the last days.

If Boyd goes to OSU I think we'll get Gardner, but if we don't we also have great chances at prospects that will probably be rated higher then him.

I could see that, I think that we have a chance no matter where Boyd goes. If Boyd goes to osu, then I think that are chances are much better.

Gardner may be a five star or high four star, but his lack of passing skills will have others rated higher than him. There's some quarterback from Washington I keep hearing about, but I can't remember his name.

There are several really good ones out there that we will recruit such as Green from Florida and a kid in Ohio but you don't know who you will end up. I think most dual thread QB's need work on their passing coming out of high school.
