View Full Version : Other Programs have more faith in us than Our Own Fans

Last night made the trip down to Blacksburg to watch the VT Hokies play the UNC Tar Heels. Since I could care less for either school I wore my Michigan attire with pride. I beleive I am a Michigan Man so not going to hide my colors.

Surprisingly enough, I can't tell you how many fans from both teams came up to me during the day (tailgated from 11-7 before the game) and gave me five or yelled out Go BLUE! Or just said comments like, "In 2 years you'll have a national title and be unstoppable!".

I find it realitively humorous, that most of our fan base can't see this, however people I don't even know can. Most of the people I spoke to knew college football and weren't just saying this to humor me. Most of them remember Rich Rod quiet well also from his time a WVA since that was a big rivalary when VT was Big East.

Once in the stands I must say it was pretty damn comical that Hokie Fans started making random cracks on Michigan because of their own insecurities. I guess cheering for both teams is frowned upon in lane stadium. Understandable I suppose. After UNC dished out the L - I can say this Michigan Man had the last laugh. Even snapped a picture of a crying Hokie fan - This Man gave me crap the entire game so it was VERY BITTER SWEET. I gave him the welcome to 5-3 and said, well what's your excuse?

Guess in Closing - We need to settle down and have some faith as fans. Other Programs that have witnessed RRs programs know better than to think doom n gloom as it seems our fans have. We're headed in the right direction just keep the faith and good things are coming our way.

GO BLUE!

Great post Bleed Blue!

I know exactly what you are talking about. Living in Bearcat/Buckeye country here in Cincinnati, i get the same thing from fans of Notre Dame, tUOS, UC, USC, Florida State. They ALL think Michigan's on the right path and they really like Forcier! I have a wide variety of friends who root for different programs and last year was brutal. They gave me sh!t all off season but once the season started, that sh!t turned into positive vibes. They all think Michigan is AHEAD of schedule in this rebuilding process and doing so with 2 TRUE FRESHMEN QB's.

I totally agree with you, patience is the key!

Go Blue!
