Now, do you realize your Hawkeyes could win out and have an undefeated season? Personally, I hope that PSU takes it to OSU this weekend, so there will be a bit less pressure on the Hawkeyes - and, ideally, your squad will walk out of the Shoe with a win.

That Iowa - Indian game was quite interesting. I can only hope that the Hawkeyes realize this season may be one filled with fate. Don't let it go...

Do you really think Kirk would choose to stay in steer and corn country and turn down an offer from Michigan? You've got a screw loose. Besides that everyone knows Iowa's season has been luck, luck, luck up to this point. A total fluke. Next year they will be back to 6-6, 7-5. We don't want Ferenz.

He has 3 million reason why to stay:)

Also, his kid is on the football team for three more years, and his youngest son is a freshman in highschool I believe(not sure if he is any good at football).

Iowa is perfect for him, and he knows it. He may leave for the NFL in 5 years or so, may be interested in the PSU job if it comes up(he is from PA).
But I'm starting to believe he may finish his career in Iowa.

On being lucky, fine, we are lucky. As long as it keeps getting us W's.

I have been very impressed with the resilience of Iowa this year. They don't have too many big name players this year and resemble the 2002 Buckeyes a lot. A lot of close games but always able to pull out the W.

If you could bring the Big Ten the NC, you would forever be my friend. Go get 'em.

First of all, let me just say that you guys are having a great year and you should be proud of your team. What I'm about to say is in no way meant to impugn the Hawkeyes in any way. However, I REALLY do not want Ferenz to coach at Michigan. In fact, I emailed Bill Martin during the coaching search and pleaded with him not to hire him. I think that Ferenz's style, like many Big 10 coaches past and present, is way too conservative. Just like Lloyd Carr, he seems to play not to lose rather than play to win. While it's working out pretty well for him this year (barely!), in the long run I don't think that such a conservative style works well on a national scale (look at the Buckyeyes performance against top schools out of conference). In fact, have you noticed how much more effective the Hawkeyes offense is when they are forced to open it up? Just look at the end of the MSU game or the last quarter against Indiana. They were very effective moving the ball after three quarters of conservative and impotent play. It shows that they could be much more explosive but Ferenz is too afraid to open up the offense. That is exactly what we've had at Michigan for decades prior to the arrival of Rich Rodriguez. Whether or not Rodriguez works out at Michigan, I'd rather not go back to that.

I liked the idea of Ferentz a few years back. Iowa plays fundamentally sound football and coaches 2 and 3 star kids to beat 4 star kids. I also liked how the Hawkeyes beat LSU a few years ago in a purposely set up big ten humiliation game. Besides OSU big ten teams have pulled some bowl upsets in recent year over highly rated and hyped sec teams. Ferentz is just the kind of coach to pull of that type of feat this year. Iowa comes to hit people and play football. I like the type of football Iowa plays.

We saw how well your D line handled the last freshman QB it faced.... I was thnking USC - but, maybe you're right - Purdue might have had a freshman QB back there... and NMSU might have had one too...
