So, for those that don't know..Will Campbell made some announcement or at least told someone that UM may be out of the running for his services.
Okay, we know that...
HOWEVER, i got an email today that apparently people are talkin' a lot of crap on facebook..(on a facebook recruiting page) and it IS a big deal.. because a lot of recruits are on facebook and become "fans" of these guys before they've ever played a snap in college. Also, they read this crap and some idiot's comment can sway an 18 year old kid who gets offended.
I'm not saying this is unique to michigan. its probably not as bad here as in other places.. but UM fans should be ABOVE this kind of crap.
If the kid wants to leave Michigan (the state) and not attend the best damn program in Michigan (and the country), that is fully his right. Its our opinion that we're the best, but it may or may not be his...
People need to lay off and stop giving recruits so much attention. People complain when kids commit and decommit but then they hound them on facebook, with phone calls, by email... etc... checking if he has a uniqname at UM??
I'm an alum and a huge fan, and recruiting is exciting, but this badgering of these kids and trackng their every word is only setting the stage for problems and eventual failure.
UM Alumni are above this and so are all UM fans. Act like it.
