we are only 34 points and roughly 1,000 yards (only ~60 yards in rushing) behind the 13-game totals of our 2007 offense? You know, the one that included: Jake Long, Mike Hart, Chad Henne, Mario Manningham, Adrian Arrington, oh, and (3) Jr/Sr LB's (c. graham, crable, thompson), (3) DL (W Johnson, TT, Jamison), and (3) in the DB (adams - safety, englemon - safety, harrison, trent).

In comparison, this year's offense has a 1st year QB (not 4th), many young kids at WR and RB (due to frequent injuries in our upperclassmen Minor and Brown), and a mix at OL. And yet, the numbers this year will very likely exceed those of the 2007 offense (not in the passing game unless Tate goes wild and throws for 300+ in the next 2 and a bowl game)...nonetheless, even with what we now perceive as a weak passing game, we're off the 2007 pace by ~900 yards....with a new system and a freshman QB.

So while we all get frustrated with play calling here and there (still think the 1st and goal against IL was horrible), we have to keep in mind that not every play or series or sometimes a good part of the game plan will work. The other team wants to win and stop us too. When you review the body of work, especially compared to the past, I think that play calling is at the bottom of the list of concerns. Remember also, this is a much more aggressive, higher risk offense...the very kind that MANY of us were clamoring for, for years under Carr. We cannot now blame RR for "stupid" decisions, when those very decisions are the risk/reward type that we sorely needed all along.

I know things look bleak, but the bottom line is that we've been inconsistent on offense. What is generally the #1 cause of that? Youth and/or inexperience.

I'd like to look up the stats on how many big plays we've had this year in comparison to previous years...gotta believe we have more now than ever before.

Thank you for the FACTS, I mean STATS Rockie!

I think these FACTS get lost in the shuffle when the nay-sayers say WE don't provide proof of this team improving and backing RichRod. We all know the defense is the problem BUT GRob has only been here what, less than a year. He needs TIME to overhaul the defense as well!

The future is STILL bright fellow Wolverines, have faith!

I think the concern at this point is Big-10 play. This team has done very well out of conference, including a big win over ND. We know they are capable of playing with anyone, but youth and the subsequent lack of composure when they get down is killing them. That will cure over time. RRod has done well with the offense in a year (and with true frosh QBs), lets give our DC two years and see how that unit improves.

I think next year our offense will be unstoppable. I think with another year under his belt - Tate is a heisman contender. I think a significant contribution to this will be the fact HE HAS TO BE out on the field 80% of the game matching scores and playing perfectly because our defence is going to be SCARY, SCARY bad next year with our Stevie Brown and Brandon Graham leaving.
