Monday Morning Practice:
Justin Turner had a real solid day playing corner instead of safety. Darius Winston is playing the other corner. He made a few impressive open field tackles and won a defensive MVP award in a 5-5 box drill where the offensive player tries to make the defensive player miss. He did receive a stinger but wasn't out long. He also was one of the best in the "scoop and score" drill
Big Will showed good hands for a DT and beat double teams consistently.
Most impressive was Jeremy Gallon. Aaron Murry and him connected on a 37 yd td where he apparently "torched" his defender. It was stated that safeties are having a hard time keeping up with Gallon. Sounds like he had multiple tds and was burning defenders left and right.
Monday Afternoon practice:
Big Will played some QB while the offensive line was getting work. He said he could do it all, run the option and throw..ha. Coaches said Justin Turner really impressed again. Gallon and Bryce Brown appear to be the no. 1 & 2 in kick return while Je'Ron Stokes, Kendrick Hardy and Donte Moss are also getting time.
Here is the evening update:
The East Team analyst: "Gallon was the best wide receiver there for the East team. He and (Georgia quarterback commit Aaron) Murray connected on a couple touchdown passes and he was a matchup problem for the secondary. He was in the slot and I guess that's what Michigan is going to use him for. That's what he did here today and he looked really good. He's obviously not the biggest guy, but he doesn't need to be. He's going to be able to get open, get the ball in his hands and do a lot of things with it. he had good hands today and every time the ball was thrown his way, he caught it. He looked like one of the best guys here."
For Turner:
"(Turner's) physical at the line. He's not the biggest kid, but he's a taller kid. He and (Arkansas commit) Darius Winston were the first team cornerbacks and thy both looked like they belonged on the field. He's another guy they probably won't pick on this week because he's so talented. He'd either knock the pass away or hit the wide receiver and the wide receiver would drop the ball"
The video highlights I've of Gallon seriously look like he's in fast forward. His legs are a blurr. This kid can MOVE. He's going to be a HUGE impact next year.
