Ever heard of him? Was a Michigan decommit after Rich Rod was hired.
He is being red shirted, but rumor has it he may already be are best quarterback now. Will be interesting if he will get to compete for the job or wait a couple years tell Stanzi is gone.
Just wanted to say thanks to Michigan. Sounds like you lost a gem.
You gotta love rumors.

You are exactly right, just rumors!
He could be a bust come gametime, teams lose 'gems' all the time. That's why the recruiting process is such a headache, too many scenarios for 17-18 year old kids. It wasn't the first and won't be the last!

I heard a rumor that your coach is going to Cleveland.

He decommitted long before RR was hired if I'm not mistaken (In fact it was either before or around the time LC announced retirement). He wouldn't start over Threet anyway from what I've seen of him.

I heard a rumor that your coach is going to Cleveland.
Kirk is a buddy of the GM and the GM said he would look at Kirk for the job.
However, the GM just got fired along with the coach. I don't think Kirk will be going anywhere the next 4 years. His son is red shirting this year.
Plus, look at the job security in the NFL, I think he may end up at Iowa tell he retires.

So he is a bust because he didn't go to Michigan?

Being the "Best QB at Iowa" is like being " The Hottest Fat Chick" - Big Deal. What does a QB at Iowa do other then hand off to the running back ?

Michigan fans certainly hope he stays there as long as possible.

Like Nut said, Being the best QB at Iowa is like being good at checkers... which is the same as saying you aren't good at a lot of things.

So Brad Banks, Drew Tate, and Chuck Long weren't good college QBs?

Yes Brad Banks got beat by USC, nothing new to Michigan. Besides, Brad Banks gave Michigan one the worst losses in Michigan Stadium ever. That all matters to me:D

This is just trolling. Hawks:
first of all, Stanzi is better than wienke will probably ever be. we aren't sorry we lost him because he is a pocket passer and that is why he decided to decommit from UM - he wouldn't have been able to run the spread
Second, no one really gives a rats ass about John Weinke right now, nor will anyone ever, except of course for Iowa fans. If i'm not mistaken he was a 3 star recruit (out of Illinois... not California or Florida or Texas) anyways and is kind of built out of the ol' John Navarre mold. (6'4 200lbs)
Third, out of ALL the players we have lost recently in decommits and transfers, do you really think the one we want back is this chump? Funny how Iowa doesn't get McGuffie, Mallet, or Boren; Not even Newsome or Beaver; they get a guy who never even set foot on UM campus and has yet to even take a snap for the Hawkeyes - yet you STILL try to troll about it. take your trolling to that Iowa State fan board, where you hicks can talk about who feeds their pigs higher quality slop.
Weinke was recruited to be a backup to Ryan Mallet, just like David Cone. you can keep him. consider it a christmas gift (from last year).

What an amazing list of names... Each of them had what, one good season?
Really, you're not going to compare those three stooges to the QB's Michigan has produced, are you? Keep grasping for straws. Seriously, this has to be one of the dumbest posts ever. Leave it to an Iowa "fan".

You're right about the job security. I mean, where else can you be so mediocre and actually keep your job???
