I realize that this is old stuff.
What is the real deal, why M did not hire Les Miles. I remember hearing Comperoni on the radio saying, " I can't tell you everything I know, but what I can say is that Les Miles initials are LM, and that also stands for "Low Morals".
Comp talked about how Miles spread rumors during the Carr era that Carr was terminally ill and on his death bed. Yeah, but that's recruiting, it a tough world out there.

Anyone who has background, please enlighten me. Miles did pretty well yesterday v Georgia Tech, and remember he kicked off his star QB at season's start.
Happy New Year to all!

I was told by someone on the old staff that Miles played Michigan for a better contract. If he wanted to come to Michigan, Michigan would of seriously considered him. Than there are reports that Carr hamstrung Miles and didn't want Miles coming in. What is known is that Dollar Bill Martin, are famous AD, was on a three hour cruise in the Bahamas, when are good friend and supporter Herbie broke the news about Miles and the DC coming to Michigan, hours before LSU was to play their conferance championship game. I don't know if we will ever know, but I tend to believe Miles played Michigan

Seriously guys have we not let this go yet?? Can we please make a New Years resolution to drop this. I know that LSU did look good in their bowl game win but they didn't have a great season either leaving some to wonder if Miles was just winning with Sabin's (SP?) recruits. Just give RR some time he like Bo is weeding out the pieces that don't fit his system and he'll get it turned around. He unlike Miles didn't have the luxury of having great players left from the previous coaching regime. The longer you wait to get behind this coach and this team the harder it's going to be for you to get back on the bandwagon after they start winning again.

Amen brother. We here at Michigan have a policy. That is we do not talk about a player or coach that doesnt play or coach for Michigan therefore I have no idea who this Miles guy is and I dont care

Seems a little sensitive there. Just asked a question, and I got your answer.

A friend of mine is an agent (mainly basketball in europe and south america) and knows Miles' agent...he said Miles was set to come if someone would just tell him the job was his...no one did and he couldn't sit and hope it would happen so he did what most smart people would do and that is cover his own *ss...he took what he had which was a really good job to begin with...which also gave him a shot at a NC...which he won...bottomline he wouldve been here if someone at Michigan wouldve called his *ss and said "the job is yours if you want it"...but no one did

Les Miles at the time had a NC caliber team and has a national contender program. Why would he leave it? He had not exactly cemented his reputation as a great coach who could rejuvenate any program. Therefore, why leave LSU? Just because he had Michigan ties? The man is not stupid. You never leave a sure thing in college football, it is too fickle an entity.
Les Miles played Michigan very well, but he also played LSU, and they even better.
If you will notice, though, Miles plays a spread offense basically lifted from RR at West Virginia. Remember, RR is the father of the spread, he used it first.
We will yet see if he uses it best!

Hey Ricky,
Havn't stolen any bases lately. Havn't stolen anything. If I do I will change my name from ronleflore to jacksonleprison. Ricky, what happened that time in Toronto, when you stayed behind and missed the team plane. You should have called me, three day binge! Bonded always as Tigers!

Still Les was my first choice, RR will do fine but it would have been nice to have a fierce competitor like RR & Les but one who has more Michigan ties.

LSU had a sub average year becasue of the QB decision he made prior to the season. If he ha dnot kicked Ryan P off of the team LSU woudl haev had 2-3 more wins.

All water under the bridge now we have RR, let's see what he can do...
