Tough loss for the Wolverines today. The win over Creighton wasnt bad but they really layed an egg today against Marquette. Poor defense, 3-20 from behind the arc and a terrible free throw percentage will most definitely lose you a game or two. The only thing I like about the loss is the fact that it will help focus the team. They should not have been beat and hopefully this loss will be enough to get them back on track. I know its only the 4th game of the season but Michigan has been a little sloppy so far.

Michigan is going to live and die with the outside shot. they are going to have trouble (like last year) with teams that have size in the front court. They just dont have the big body bangers you need in a half court game. They are going to get by with pushing the ball, solid fundemental defense and the outside shot. They will have a good season but they will struggle against the better teams of the Big Ten.

Marquette is actually a smaller team than Michigan.

I agree with your analysis for the most part, but it all comes down to UM being able to play good D and hitting their outside shots. Size will matter at times but not always. If they're hitting the outside shots they don't have to worry about banging inside.
