Holy smokes, anyone see that first drives, Utah went all Ninja on the Bama secondary!

I also just realised we played 3 BCS teams this year (PSU, OSU, Utah), two on the road. How fun for RRod and his transition year.

And we were still only 3-4 plays from being 6-6.

What a suprise (to me at least)! Utah is dynamic on offense and 8 sacks tonight. Holy smokes, Batman. I don't want to speculate on the suspension of Smith and the almost instant injury to his backup, because I really thought Bama would run all over Utah tonight. Props to Utah for getting up early and taking Bama out of a running gameplan. Even at that, Utah seem to stuff everything Bama sent out. Probably most suprising is that a team with only 20 yards rushing entering the 4th Qtr was leading Bama. That's the definition of one-dimensional and Bama still couldn't stop them. I declare here and now that Utah is the master of the 10 yrd pass, exactly at the first down marker. As I watched the game, I almost found myself rooting for Utah as I saw there gameplan. I love teams that run plays that make sense. On 3rd down they threw passes that got them just pass the marker, I love that. I'm always bitching that my team, and not many others, ever do that. They knew just what they wanted to do, and did it. Impressive! Not only that, what has Utah done for a playoff system tonight?!! They're undefeated, beat Bama, Oregon St, Michigan, and TCU. How long will they deny us a playoff? I think Utah was very very impressive tonight, but I still can't sell them as a national champ because they don't play tough games week in and week out; but my goodness, they deserve a chance to play for it all (in a playoff), IMO!

There is so much parity now. TCU and Boise State are both excellent but under appreciated teams.
In a playoff system, I believe anything could happen. If playoff games were played in places like Chicago, Philly, New York, etc., you would even see more surprises.
I can't help but think that that the present bowl system helps west coast and Florida teams to play bowl games close by. How can it not help USC to play 11 miles from home and California to play at home?

therein lies the problem, sunny locations and money. everyone knows these teams do not play well in january midwest weather and claim a stadium up here could not sell out a bowl game, obviously they do not watch the regular season games against small schools that sell out way before the season starts against smaller schools even after the season michigan had this year.
