I have a quick question, and was wondering if someone can provide the answer to it.

On Texas' last play (prior to the field goal as time expired) - the play initiated from the left hash on the field. Colt's throw went out the right sideline. My question is - why wasn't the ball spotted on the right hash mark for the field goal attempt?

I think the right hash might have made the kick, which barely made it in, a bit more difficult - and, the result of the game may have been pleasantly different for me - since, though I don't necessarily care for Nebraska, I care for the BCS even less, and a win by Nebraska would have sent the BCS into a tailspin...

I beleive since it was an incomplete pass the spot will revert back to the original mark which in this case was the left hash mark.

Still amazes me how fortunate the longhorns were.

That game almost went down as one of the biggest blunders of all time---for Texas, due to the semi-perfect pass. Wow, I was hoping for Nebraska to win---good effort to say the least. LOL, McCoy jumped up and realized it too..if they lost I would have to say that would've hurt a bit in the running for the Heisman.. or would it help his chances of winning due to the beautiful touch/timing on that last second "throw away". Hmmm.. doubt that...

McCoy kinda reminds me of that dude from Malcom in the Middle.(?)

I'd almost bet that game would've been over with if it wasn't for instant replay.

If the play results in an incomplete pass, the spot of the ball goes back to the previous play's spot.

No problem. I think the same happens when there is a penalty that is tacked from the line of scrimmage. The ball is in the same location on the hash-marks.
