Good board to go to if your board, anyways here is something I pasted, it is two different post, but you can get the ideal: Some real good posters on there with insite into UM, they are Withnail, Detroitbry, Taco and Dotman just to name a few. This makes some interesting reading, the rumor was supposely someone posted this up on the Rivals board after Wisconsin's BB game Wednesday, before the Mods took it down. Big Will is 60% now, next year's Big Will will be Marvin Robinson. Last year is was Nick Perry and the year before that it was Rojo. Somewhere in there I'm forgetting where Barksdale was and the DB that went to Florida State. Now for the Paste
Lloyd is still upset one of his former assistants didn't get the head job and is now trying to position/align himself with more power with the person who eventually replaces Bill Martin as head AD (Lloyd is an associate AD right now). When that happens, Lloyd wants the new AD to bring in one of Lloyd's former players as head coach and boot Rich Rod out. Rich Rod wants a sign of support from Bill Martin right now to squash this. Bill Martin is just trying to hold his head above water against Lloyd. Of course if Rich Rod starts winning...the next AD won't be able to do anything. Rich Rod starting to feel a little panicky knowing that potentially when the new AD comes in...he could be out unless he is winning the Big 10 at that point...
That's the story being bandied about right now with Lloyd acting like a pee-on.

Didn't see it on Rivals and I know you are just passing it along, but. . .
Even if Lloyd was trying to do what the rumor suggests (I don't believe he is), it would be pointless. Here's why:
- Absent some surprise health issue, Martin will be here through 2012, or perhaps longer. Old thinking was that he would step down in 2010/11 when the stadium is completed. He has now been telling people he wants to take "a few victory laps" after the stadium is done.
- Lloyd is a non-entity within the AD these days. He makes occasional appearances, but his influence is no even 1% of what the message board "insiders" like to imagine. He has lots of goodwill in the community because of his charitable work. But the (non-publicly expressed) feeling among those who matter was that he stayed on well past his expiration date.
Some of the dead enders may have delusions of a palace coup, but the chance of this is 0.0%.
- RichRod is here for at least 4 years, unless he publicly embarrasses UM (like Moeller), commits a felony or resigns. Again, the powers that be have confidence and will stick with him. There is no chance they do an involuntary coaching change right as the stadium renovation comes on line.
- no one (including MSC) knows who the next AD will be. I've spoken with her, several Regents, and some very influential alums. The general consensus is that they want a business guy (not a Bo type or a former jock) who is in the Martin mold. MSC thinks Martin is the best AD in the country and wants to clone him.
There are a few names on the radar, but no steps have been taken to narrow things down.
--- --- ---
Some posters would like to imagine that the AD is the Ann Arbor version of Peyton Place, Versailles, or the Sopranos. But it's not. When you see these posts, please remember
- UM hires for the long term and rarely makes changes mid-stream.
- MSC and Martin have confidence in RichRod.
- And Martin is here for at least 3 1/2 more years.
The daily/weekly/monthly reports of palace intrigue are pretty much idle imagination, or pointless speculation.
