Has anyone got the latest Alice in Chains cd "Black Gives Way to Blue?" I've been in debates with longtime fans if it's viable or even "the right thing to do" for Jerry Cantrell and the boys to have gotten back together without Layne Staley.
I have to say that it's one of their best albums. My personal favorite is "Dirt" but I love 'em all. This one is right up there.
It has the heavy riffs you're used to in "A Looking in View" and "Last of My Kind" and the strong melodies in the title track and "Your Decision". Listen to "Take Her Out" once and it'll have ya hooked.
As a huge AIC fan, just curious what ya'll might be thinkin' about it.

I don't follow AIC to much lately, I have their LIVE one with their greatest hits. My buddy was playing it the other day and it sounded good---with a different singer right? He said it was, and the dude rocks!

Yeah, the new singer is a guy named William Duvall and he's got a unique voice and fits right in with the band. However guitarist Jerry Cantrell sings lead vox on more than half the songs I'd say. I've seen live clips on youtube and Duvall pulls off all the classic AIC tunes. I hope they're back to stay.
