View Full Version : Ryan Mallett leaving Arkansas? Entering the draft?

I've seen that Mallett is considering leaving Arkansas and entering the draft. I'm wondering what all the Mallett fans think of this. My guess is if he does enter, he won't get drafted until the 7th round. And, he'll be a work in progress at the NFL level for a while.

He's tall and has a gun for an arm. The challenge is that he's not thick enough, his mobility is limited, and he's a head case.

But, those are my thoughts. What do you think?

Wow, 7th round, really? I think he could be a late 1st to 2nd round pick. He has the tools that every team looks for, and he is still very young. If he does well in the combine, I can see him being one of the top QB's. I do not see him dropping that far because he is a player that if he lives up to his potential, he could become a superstar. Past the 3rd round, you don't see players like that.

I think he should play another year. He only had one full year to show his skills. Scouts want to see if he's consistant.

This is obviously RR's fault for not reaching out to him several years ago...tragic...

I saw Mallett play several times this year and thought he was outstanding. I can't imagine him lasting beyond the second round with his height, arm, etc. If he stays at Arkansas another year, he will be a top 5 or 10 draft pick.

With his arm and size I cannot see him lasting past the 2nd, certainly the 3rd.

With that said his ego and brain will turn him into another Ryan Leaf.
