Back from Honduras, left on Dec 28, had an earthquake there, got back to the States Sat and had an earthquake there too. One time I went to Honduras, Katrina hit the day after I left New Orleans, than when I came back through Miami a couple of weeks later, I think Rita hit the next day. I had to fly to California to meet my group this time and than take a charter plane from there. Although I was in LA and the earthquake happen in like SF area

Tony Grimes/Clerance Murphy-Visted the Ohio State Game, primary recruiter Jay Hopson, took another job, and that really hurt and with Hopson leaving was the biggest domino. Plus another thing that hurt was a All Star Game was it was in the 40's in Murtal Beach and it was very cold. Grimes is looking at Miami and Murphy is looking at Maryland. Murphy is very muck like Wilkins

Rashad Knight-Still recruting Knight very hard and Knight will be in this weekend

Couple of USC Guys Michigan is going to go after hard

Dillon Baxter-Visited during the Ohio State Game, wants to enroll early, he has already graduated, so will see. Had a very good visit, is very close to Tate; Florida and Cal are going to be in the mix along with Michigan. Michigan is not really the favorite right now, but RR has not used his in home yet and probably will use it after the coaches convention. As far as Kyle Prater, if he doesn't go to USC, look for him to go to ND, but Michigan will make a run for him because him and Baxter are close friends. However, RR will have to get the snakeoil out because Prater has stated he wants to play in a Pro-Style Offense; which to me why Sam feels ND leads for him, if he doesn't go to USC, is unbeknowest to me.

Also there is some talk of Florida DB Coach Chuck Heater coming to Michigan and Coaching the DB's and GRob coaching the LB and Gibson coaching the S and Special Teams.

Basketball Recruiting

Trey Zigler and has a pre-exisitng relationship with the Dumars in the fact that Trey has a long distant relationship with Jordan Dumars sister. Look for Michigan to bring in John Harper to, who Michigan leads for

I like the talk of Heater coming to UM. Hope that happens. He's a Michigan alum and has tons of experience coaching the secondary. Looks like he can do a bit of recruiting too; he's brought in two 4-star, and one 5-star for Florida this class. He would be a big pickup.

Would love to see Heater come in, but more than anything I want to see Baxter in maize and blue come September.

Me to, if he comes here that could really solidify that RB position for us. I think it would be Smith, Touissaint and Baxter all splitting touches next year if he commits. Mainly Touissaint and Baxter with Smith's injury.

No Mike Shaw!!! No Michael Cox!!! Both looked pretty darn good in limited action. Cox is the big back, the bruiser that can pick up short yards. Shaw is a Minor/Brown clone in my eyes. He's got that top end, and he can take a hit. I think Shaw could have a great year in 2010. UM future at RB certainly should be great. Adding Baxter would be amazing.

I love Touissaint as a player, I know he RS'd but I think he's perfect for this system. Compares well to Steve Slaton.

Keep in mind, I'm not an inside information guy, I just report what Sam says on WTKA, so here is what Sam said today on Recruiting roundup and the Radio Show

As far as today, Sam said he felt that *** OL Torrian Wilson, from Miami, is probably going to cancell the Jan 22 visit and go instead to Louisville. He didn't think that was a big deal since Michigan feels they have a better shot at a **** OL midwest recruit, who is commited to another Big Ten School, some say it is Andrew Odonal from Whitehouse, Ohio who is commited to Iowa. When I was in Whitehouse, Ohio (South of Toledo) on Christmas Eve, I ask one of the position coaches at Anthony Wayne (where Odonnal goes to HS) and I kind of got the feeling that if Andrew were to look, it would be Michigan because of Greg Fry, Elliot Mealer (Mealer lives 20 miles from Andrew) and Mike Barwis. I was given the impression that Odonnal was not happy that the home state school did not offer him a scholarship. Now others feel that the mystry recruit could be OL Sky Schofner, from Sunbury, Oh, who is commited to MSU. I know this could be redundant, I believe both are **** recruits, but Schofner could be a *** and I Know Odonnal is a ****. Also an interesting interview with Schofner is here http://www.boschemblogger.com/

**** DL Jibreel Black from Cincinnati, Ohio, according to Sam, is probably going to cancell his visit and stay with Cincinnati or go to Indiana, where his brother goes. However, according to Sam, Michigan is still in it for Big Tex Beachum though.

There was a caller about Tony Grimes and Michigan is not out of the woods with him. Seem like Sam said that Miami was getting back into the picture with him
Also Sam mentioned some of the following

...that Calving Magee (UM's OC) may be a serious candidate for the USF job - I've heard that his chances may have increased since Tuberville was hired at TTU

...that Coach Rodriguez has interviewed former Marshall head coach Mark Snyder for the LB Coaching position

...that former UM WR coach (and current Iowa WR coach) Erik Campbell has interviewed for the CMU job [I say, "good for you Coach Campbell"! I hope he gets the job, cause I really like him as a person]

I would rather see Scott Loeffler get the CMU job, he has been around a top notch program and has a national championship under his belt as an assistant. With that said I hope Michigan gets a little more size onthe D-line that can hog up a double team so that Roh and co. can get loose on the pass rush with out blitzing. They need to find a 330 lb fat kid and turn him into Glibert Brown just plop his butt down on the line and let the center and guard try and move him on every run play.
