Talking about a match made in heaven - Lane Kiffen is being reported as packing up and taking off for USC. He is taking his Father and a few other coaches as well. You have to be kidding me. He has been in Tennessee for one year - broke a bunch of rules - lured a bunch of top recruits his way - now he is bailing after one season.

Now you have the biggest rule breaker hiring the biggest rule breaker - PERFECT. My guess is that before Kiffen leaves USC - they will get the death penalty from the NCAA. How would you like to be the player that was sold a bill of goods to play at Tennessee - then have your coach and staff bail on you. I think something has to be done about these coaches leaving after one season - or in some cases less. They should have to sit out a year just like a player if they leave one D1 school for another.

Stay tuned for more details on this breaking story.

As much as I can't stand Florida, I was looking forward to Lane getting more beatings from Urban.
I think Lane Kiffin is a piece of sh!+. He did break rules at UT, and he gets rewarded by another school for it. I hope they finish 4th or 5th in the pac 10.

Lane Kiffin has taken over my number one spot as most hated CFB coach over Steve Spurrier. This guy has such a big ego that the entire galaxy can't contain it.

Much as it pains me to say it, Al Davis was right about this guy.

Rodriguez gets more company on the poster board of disreputable coaches. First, Kelly who left his team in the lurch. Then Leach and Leavitt with charges of player abuse. Now Kiffin bailing on Tennessee, to replace the criminal Pete Carroll who is getting out of town before the slow arm of NCAA justice catches up with him.

Tressel might be conservative and a "dinosaur" as you would say. But he is not in the same league with these characters.

Aren't you forgetting Dantonio? Isn't he from the Tressel coaching tree? :D

Yeah, Kiffin has been Public Enemy #1 IMO since he arrived in Knoxville. Since his first false accusation against Meyer, I have loathed this guy. This year was the first time I pulled for someone against an SEC team in a bowl game - VT vs UT. I feel like I have to take a shower after I watch one of his press conferences on TV....he's that scumbaggy (new word just for Kiffin).

On a related note, am I alone in thinking that Calipari (KY) is the dirtiest guy in the college BB ranks. His recruiting success is not quite as shocking now that he is at KY, but he did come in and get some major recruits right away. Compare that to a school and coach (UF and Donovan) that won back-to-back NCs just a few years ago and can barely sniff a top 10 recruiting class. It's interesting that Calipari was already getting similar kinds of recruiting classes at his two previous, lesser schools without having ever won anything serious....both of which are now facing or serving sanctions in his wake. How does this guy keep getting hired with nothing ever sticking to him? For the same reasons I hate Kiffin, I am ashamed that a team in the SEC would stoop so low as to higher this scumbag.

I guess we just have to wait for justice. You can't change these guys' character - like that Samford dude at Indiana a couple years ago. I guess I'll just hope that it catches up with Kiffin and Calipari some day. I also think there is way too much smoke around the USC program to think that Carroll was a straight shooter either. Considering that Ed Orgeron loves to hang with Kiffin and Carroll and is one of the best recruiters in the land, I wonder if the NCAA will ever start bugging that guy's recruiting visits. I guy landed some excellent recruiting classes at Ole Miss....you're telling me there wasn't some money/favors changing hands.

I too haven't cared for Kiffin since he started at UT, but I really dislike him now.

As for Calipari is it any coincidence that he has left every program he has coached in shambles upon exiting and NCAA investigations? UK is really going out on a limb with this guy and have shown that the only thing they care about is winning because somewhere down the road UK will again be under investigation. Memories must be short nowdays in Lexington, guess they forgot the last time.
