Who cares? The Cleveland Plain Dealer had an article the other week about the lack of interest in this matchup, and how the alums are staying away in droves.
It may be closer than in past years - Texas has got to feel demoralized at being left out of the NC game, will they give it 100%?
Maybe I'll tune in for awhile to see if tUOS injures one of their own players or has a half-time riot in the locker room - how will the implosion manifest itself this year?
I think CSI Miami is on at 10pm?

Great game! Boring first half but ended up being one of the best bowl games this season. tUOS needed to punch in a few of those scores instead of field goals. They dominated the first half but Texas made some nice half time adjustments. Pryor was great with his legs and the mixture of Boeckman was nice. But in the end, Texas had too much time on the clock on the final drive. Exciting game. On a side note, did you see Colt's girlfriend? WOW!

What a game! I thought Texas was going to start the beatdown in the second half. But they didn't. Ohio State's defense was too tough to get blown out by Texas's style of play.
No way in heck should Texas be playing in the NC. And USC would kill them. Texas is too one dimensional to be the #1 team. But they still pulled out a great victory tonight. I see this game being shown on ESPN Classics for quite a few years.
Ohio State played a great game. It could have gone either way. But they still lost. Tressel now officially is the coach who can't win the big one. At one time he looked like he had magic. That magic is now gone.
Once again Ohio State looked too predictable, especially in the first half. The way they were playing, they should have scored at least one touchdown in the first half. They outplayed Texas, yet were only up 6-3 at the half. OSU acted like this was a Big Ten game by being too conservative on most series. They weren't trying to score on any of those series, just trying to hold their own ground.
Texas on the other hand was trying to score on every series. McCoy paid a price several times by getting sacked for big losses and intentional grounding. But at least they attempted to move forward and persisted until they won the game at the end. OSU more or less just stood still. And when you stand still walking up a down escalator, which is what these kinds of games are, you move backwards.

Good observation. I watched the whole game and woke up this morning with a huge desire to go buy a truck. (it couldn't have anything to do with the 4,378 truck commercials last night. Somewhere in that 4 hour truck infomercial, I could swear I saw a football game)
....I liked the truck commercial where they drive the truck through huge flames. A truck like that could be handy in Columbus if OSU ever does win a bowl game and all the Columbus couches are on fire.

I agree goblue about Texas not being in the NC. They sure as hell didn't play like they desereved to be in the NC, but if people are still saying they were shafted what does that say about OU & Florida? HA! What a joke. Texas looked just as bad as the Bucks did last night.

The commercials - oh my - that's what Fox coverage and the ridiculous amount of money they paid for broadcast rights resulted in. The Bucks put up a good fight - congrats to them.
If anything, this just confirms what I think - the Big 12 seems to be a bit over-rated, and based on the Utes performance against Bama, the SEC may be over-rated as well.

I don't think anyone at this point could argue against a USC/Utah NC game.... the talent appears to be there on both sides. Sadly it is a game we will never see.

USC and Florida both would run Utah right out of the stadium. I really think it was a case of Alabama not wanting to be there and Utah having something to prove. Answer me one question: Would UTAH win any of these conferences if they were playing in them Big 10, PAC 10, SEC or Big 12.
The answer is very easy - NO. If you allow Utah to win the NC because they are unbeaten then next year Hawaii, BYU or Boise State will win the NC. You will not see a big conference champ unless they run the table - which in the SEC, Big 12, PAC 10 and Big 10 is very hard to do. You also have to win your out of conference games which when compared to Utah - are much tougher.

I don't know, I think college football needs to move in the direction so that Hawaii, BYU, etc could at least have a chance to PLAY for a NC. Parity has arrived in college football, like it or not, and even the strong conferences are seeing chinks in their armor. There is still a gap between the big conferences and the "minors", but it is rapidly narrowing.
The defense I saw utah play against bama was pretty damn good. That D could have competed against any O I think, even USC, playing the way it did 90% of that game. The other 10% is that gap that is growing smaller.

Could Utah maintain that level off play week in week out against tough teams ? I say no. If Utah was allowed to play a cupcake non-conference schedule and then win a easy conference - why would anybody schedule a tough game. Boise, Hawaii and other non-BCS teams would feast on 1AA schools and then win their conference. Then they would come up with a tricky game plan in an effort to knocj off a BCS school and if they suceed - BAM NC. People felt the same way about Hawaii and Colt Brennan last year. So they were given their shot and Georgia worked hard and did not take them lightly (like Alabama did Utah) - what happened. Georgia made a mockery of the game and crushed Hawaii.

I believe Utah deserves a ton of credit and they did play a very respectable schedule. Here are their best wins:
Michigan (in Ann Arbor); Air Force; Oregon State; TCU; BYU; and Alabama. These were some very good wins. Maybe Michigan was down this year but they did have the guts to schedule the Wolverines in Ann Arbor!

Alabama seemed un-interested in that bowl game. They did not show any of the physical and nasty nature they did during the regular season. The Florida game sucked the life out of them - period. Could you with a stright face tell me Utah could hang with Florida or Oklahoma in the NC game ? It's easy to over look a team like Utah when your playing in a bowl you don't want to be in. Utah had something it wanted to prove and Alabama was just there for the gift baskets. Oklahoma did the same thing against Boise State. It's human nature to have a let down when you fall short of your ultimate goal.

C'mon ricky, you have no room to talk with the entire college football world hitting the snooze button on RR and UM football.
BTW. In CFN's annual ranking of best bowl games. They rank all 34 of 'em.

At least we know how to put on a good show. CFN also ranks the Ohio State-Miami game as the best BCS game ever.

don ,how can you sit their and say, or believe you saw texas at their best against ohio state, come on man ,the first half was their worst all season, , the second half was about par for them, they put up 300 yards in offense vrs,osu , your team was one play away from getting blown out again, and your o line stinks especially because they were supposed to be the great BLOCK O , slow and overated, you saw it just like i did, the second to last play texas rushed 3 guys against 5 and two of them got thru and sacked todd beockman, pretty pathetic ,given the fact how important that play was for you... maybe next season ,crybaby boren will save your o line..
