View Full Version : Beanie Wells - can't pass block?

I heard something that was sort of odd on the Cards vs Saints pregame show. Whenever Beanie comes into the game, opposing defenses automatically play the run, because he cannot pass block.
How is it that he never developed blocking skills at tUOS? How sad that he didn't get the proper coaching to make him a complete back and is going to have to learn pass blocking in the NFL instead of college.

There are a bunch of RB's in the NFL that are not good at pass blocking - Peterson, Grant, Bush, LT - just to name a few. Many teams bring in RB's or FB's just to pass block. In fact Green Bay brought Green back this year - because of his pass blocking.
I think Beanie had a nice year this year for being a rookie that was supposed to be injury prone. How many yards did he have compared to Mike Hart ? Just curious. :D

And it's common knowledge that Braylon Edwards cannot catch a football. You can't play the rookie card for this guy.
How is it that he never developed this skill at UM? How sad that he didn't get the proper coaching to make him a receiver at the pro level. His NFL stay is limited. And he apparently loves punching out nightclub owners.

And it's common knowledge that Steve Breaston cannot catch a football. You can't play the rookie card for this guy.

That isn't common knowledge actually, I haven't heard anything about Steve Breaston's catching ability, anything bad that is.

The same could be said about a certain guy named Ginn.

Mike Hart was playing last night for the Colts. You don't watch a lot of football, I assume.
BTW where is that Clarett kid playing?
BTW where is that Pittman kid playing?
And if not many roobkie RBs pass protect, why was it even noteworthy and the topic of conversation in the pregame?

Wow Mike Hart did play. Maybe next year he might get to 100 yards in the season. Clarrett and Pittman are no comparison. They are just names in a long list of rb's at OSU. Hart is UM's all time leading rusher. Now if you compare Loudmouth Hart to Archie Griffen, Eddie George then we can talk. Dont compare your schools leading rusher of all time to a couple of rb's that played a couple of seasons.

Pittman was the starting RB for tUOS for a number of years, and is a fair comparision. Hart never won the Heisman, so comparing him to George and Griffen is rather stupid.
Hart will be playing in the AFC Championship game next year. What will Pittman and Clarett be doing?
By the way, how did Wells do against the Saints yesterday? 7 yds? Wow, even Hart got more than that...

Hart never came close to winning the Heisman. All I was doing was comparing UM's all time leading rusher to OSU's leading rusher. You are comparing a two year starter at OSU to the all time leading rusher at UM.

Not too sure about Pittman, but I'm pretty sure Clarett is playing with himself inside his prison cell...

Pittman was cut by the Rams last year and currently is out of the NFL (I always know the answer to the question before I ask it!)
