RR said that he expects the limit of 25 recruits. Also says that he and friends Bob Stoops and Urban Meyer send coaches to each's schools for offensive studies. Says that we host one year then go to Oklahoma and Florida the following year (I did not know that we done that with these schools. I think this is great. These are the 3 best offensive minds in football IMO).

I don't think UM has done that with those 3 in the past, it's a RR thing. He and his staff are good friends with those coaches so now that he's at UM, he'll bring that knowledge.

That is a great idea, I can't wait to see what kind of results that will produce...

i also heard that conversation with rr, he was asked about coaching against friends and he said ,we are not friends during the battle, he is thinking outside the typical big10 box, and this will do wonders for michigans program..

wow didnt know it worked like that. Like the idea though. Rich rods speed, urban meyers smash mouth style, and stoops pass happy style. Wish i could be there to see how it goes down. My vision.... Sit at an empty bar throw back a couple beers and talk football..... wait thats what my friends and i do.

As far as recuiting goes. I am more impressed with Rich rods class than lloyds last few and i think the sky is the limit in the future. More over all athletes more speed.

I am curious to see how his defense works out over the long run. Big east is a lot different then big ten. but why am i telling you that, i would hope you all knew that. I am happy to hear he doesnt want to change to a 3-3-5 like wvu.

I know you wanted to talk offense but I cant help but mention the defense. Yes we can stand to gain another DB commit but just look at the D-line! Inside DTs in Campbell and Jones. Speed rushers and good athletes in Lalota, Roh and Graves. Michigan has the best defensive line coming in for 09 that is awesome

Speaking of our recruits, here's some interesting observations about some of them from last weekend's games.

We don't have anything as of yet, not until 2/4/09 when the LOIs are in.

Good info Seger. The positives on Turner are really great to hear. Hopefully he can be a lock down corner.

Despite a couple negatives for Lalota and Lewan, I don't think they will be effected. Lewan is going to have time to perfect his technique, but his upside is very good. Lalota, who knows. I'd like to think the coaches know what is best for him, so we'll let them make that decision. Whatever is best for the team. It's good that he is versatile enough to play offense or defense

I know Bo used to go to Bear Byrant workshops. My HS coaches often saw him there every year. This is a very common practice.

In addition to visiting and exchanging ideas with other college coaches, I think that certain M coaches should go into the Michigan alumni ranks in the NFL - maybe Trgovac (for example) to look at the D and offenses running Zone blocking schemes.

These could be great information exchanges, and I think that Jake Long and the Miami coaches might be a good spot to focus on the O, and the NY Giants might be a good NFL team to visit as well.
