The U.S. National Team dug themselves out of a huge hole today with a big time comeback for the draw against Slovenia. In the 13th minute of the game Slovenia went up 1-0 on a poor defensive breakdown that left the keeper out on an island. Then to make matters worse, Slovenia keeps up the attack and goes up 2-0 in the 33rd minute of the first half. For an American squad that was favored to win, being down 2-0 seemed insurmountable. The Americans proved that nothing is impossible with this team, they owned the second half with 2 early goals by Donovan and Michael Bradley, the coaches son. The U.S. should have won the game 3-2 to complete the most improbable of comebacks but the Referee cost the Nats the win with a terrible phantom offsides call. All in all it was a great accomplishment to come back and win the draw but it is a little disheartening to see a winning goal called off by the official. Now we need England to beat Algeria 1-0 then we beat Algeria and its on to the round of 16
