In the wake of losing Josh Robinson to UCF, did I really just type that? I guess whatever makes him happy but I don't get it take away football the free education you receive at UM should not be turned down. Travis Hawkins spurned us and a few others over the years.

Why is this becoming a problem? We only produced Woodson, Jackson, Law to name a few. I know we have Warren and Bobucar but beyond that all of our recruits seem destined for safety except maybe Turner.

Rod needs to get 1 or 2 we have seven remaining scholarships. 1 for Will, 1 for Jenkins, 1 for big outside WR Randle, Stokes. So that leaves 4 scholly's that should be devoted to OL and CB only.

What are the chances at getting Dre Kirkpatrick, Cliff Harris or the Tennessee commit his name escapes me right now he's from Middletown Ohio and hates Tuos Rod should be relentless on these guys.

2010 though Dior Mathis and Lo Wood should be top priorities also.

You're right. We're definitely solid at safety, we need to add some depth at CB.

The list looks pretty good we just need to add some:
Cissoko, Warren, Floyd, Smith, Williams, Bell, Vlad, Jones, Turner.
Robinson in 2010.

I'm really excited about Vlad. Guys like him are going to make everyone around him better. I wanna see some punishing hits.

Kirkpatrick is Alabama.
Cliff Harris - don't know anything about him.

Thanks Hunter was who I was thinking of. I've heard Dre is with the Tide but he is yet to commit which to me says he's not totally destined for them. he does have us on his list we need to get him up here for a visit. Cliff Harris is a corner from Fresno that has said he likes UM tradition and that USC was not a overwhelming favorite. Those were just the two I thought of any other possibilities out there?

dior mathis grew up a miami fl fan and almost committed earlier this season, but decided to wait, he may be tough to pull in

I seem to remember that he said that it's going to be a tough choice between Michigan and miami.

We do need more CB's and RR knows that as he named it as one of the positions of weakness that needs addressed in recruiting. I think its going to be difficult to get anyone of any substance this year, but who knows a little snake oil can go a long way.

I think battling Tennessee for defensive recruits will be tough. Monte Kiffin's got a great resume and when he joins Lane on the UT staff - they'll recruit well, and a lot of players will want to develop under their tutelage.

I do think we need more depth at CB - as well as LB. Hopefully, we'll be answering some of those questions with this class. I want to see 3rd and longs become 4th and longs (or 4ths and longer)...

The freep.com is reporting that North Carolina commit is visting this weekend.

Josh Hunter
Charlotte, NC
6'2
172lbs
4.4 speed

Looks like a good prospect.

I may have asked this before but Isaiah Bell is a very polarising prospect rivals is lukewarm on him but he got invited to the Army All American game or another all star game and ESPNU has him in their top 150 ranked ahead of Cambell. What gives? Is he a diamond in the rough that maybe the best player in this class?

Rivals has these CB's still having Michigan in consideration:

1.) Branden Smith Atlanta, GA

2.) Jayron Hosley Delray Beach, FL

Both look good on film we need one of these guys along with the other two mentioned above.

ive seen this kid play a few times this year, he would be a solid pick up. The only thing i noticed is that he gets turned around a lot. Great size to start with but would like to see him develop a little more upper body strength. He reminds me of jamar adams (butler hs in charlotte) when jamar played at butler he wasnt as big as this kid. So this kid could come in and start.

EPSN's ranking of Campbell makes no sense, so I wouldn't compare the two. They basically downgraded him for being raw. Campbell has dominated in Highschool, and I would guess he uses his advantage in size and power to overwhelm instead of technique.

I almost think that they downgrade the Michigan verbals or ones they think might sign with Michigan.

I would tend to agree with that statement.
