What took place with Ted Ginn Sr. at Glennville High in Ohio when Lloyd Carr was coach? I keep hearing references of Michigan not having a chance with Glennville players because of something Carr done or didn't do? Can anyone elaborate?

No one knows what's really up, but many think that PART of the problem is how Lloyd didn't play Pierre Woods much.

Something slightly relevent I googled: http://www.fanblogs.com/michigan/005983.php

I don't know if that case holds much water though, since how many Glenville kids ride the pine at OSU?

One of my buddies who lives in cbus says that is absolutely the answer. He didn't play him enough and ted ginn sr. got pissed.

It's because ginn sr. thought woods was supposed to be like the second coming of Christ. Instead he was a lazy piece of sh*t cocaine snorting asshole. Ted ginn sr. forgets to mention that part...

Woods was only part of the problem. I guess Lloyd made a comment about Ginn sending so many players to OSU and him not getting a shot at them. Whatever happened or was said between them must have been serious. I guess before the Woods situation Lloyd got mad that Ginn tooks his bus tour of high school players to a football camp at MSU. That was the thing that caused Carr to make a comment about Glenville. It's no secret how Ginn feels about Michigan and Carr. I will be shocked if Hall goes anywhere but Columbus.

My guess is that the only thing that has changed is that OSU is paying him off. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Ginn had a problem with Carr, Nut... not Michigan. I read somewhere that Gin is friends with someone on RR's staff, and he's been more open to his players attending Michigan with the new coaches.

Did you read anything in this topic? We're not talking about Ginn Jr.'s mediocrity we're talking about Glenville and Senior.

Ginn,Sr has a strong bond with Tressel and Ohio State. The word is that they talk weekly and that Tressel was very much a part of getting Nike involved at Glenville. Not only does Ginn give Tressel the inside track on the Glenville players - he gives him a heads up on the top high school players in the state of Ohio. The Ginn bus tour that yearly goes to several camps does not only contain Glenville players but players from all over Northeast Ohio. In the last few years Ginn has built relationships with Cincy, MSU and Iowa. Illinois has been trying to get in but Zook is burning as many bridges as Carr did. The Zook style of recruiting hurts a program way more then it helps it. Michigan like it or not is a great school if a player actually wants and education. With many Glenville kids growing up in the crappiest of surroundings it would be wrong to be mad if the kid goes to any college - even Michigan. What Ginn,Sr has done is nothing short of amazing when it comes to sending kids to college and making them better young men.

I still happen to think that Hall will be a Buckeyes because of the things he said during and after his visit to OSU. He will fit in perfectly with the studs from last years class as well as Boren. He met with Tressel, Lichter and the offensive line coaches. He like the fact Ohio State has sent many linemen to the NFL. He roomed with Browning and Pryor took him around. He said he felt like he was home and that he could very easily see himself playing football with the Buckeyes. I would hate to lose a player of his caliber - but you cannot get them all. Tressel has built a wall around Ohio and will continue to get most of the top recruits. I think RR knows he will never be the man in Ohio - but if he could get a player here or there along with recruiting nationally he would be cool with that. My guess is that RR does not want to see MSU and others get the upper hand in Ohio when it comes to the remaining Ohio high schoolers.

While I hope to see Hall in a Buckeyes uniform - where he belongs. It would not break my heart to see a inner city kid get an education from the University of Michigan. It would hurt more that we were unable to keep a 5 star stud in Ohio.

He like the fact Ohio State has sent many linemen to the NFL.

And Michigan hasn't? Steve Hutchinson, Jeff Backus, Jack Long, Jon Jansen, Jonathan Goodwin, Maurice Williams, Adam Stenavich, Jon Runyan, Dave Pearson, Tony Pape, David Baas and that's just OL on current NFL rosters...

NEXT!

He did not say say Michigan didn't. I was just quoting what he said in the BSB (Buckeye Sport Bulletin). Don't get so defensive.:)

Not defensive, just stating facts!

It would be nice to get in with Ted Ginn Sr. again. They have some really good players coming out of that school. Like the schools down here in Cincinnati: Colerain, Elder, Moeller, LaSalle, St. X...

Massillion, Glenville, St. Ignatius, St. Edwards, Cardinal Mooney, Warren Harding are the same way up north...Definitely some good football in the state of Ohio!

Glenville is unique because of the open enrollment. The Cleveland public school system is very large, but a kid can go to any high school he or she wants to. If your good in football, boys track or basketball - you attend Glenville. If your good in girls track its Collinwood - and so on. What you basically have is a Cleveland all-star team, that is why they can compete so well against the catholic schools that recruit.

How could osu fans actually be excited about having a pussy like boren on their team, regardless of him leaving the team i route for, he left cause he was soft and really not a tough football player. After hearing his reasons i would never want a soft ass bitch like that on my team.
