The coaches are pushing for an early signing period for the 3rd week of December. It is great that they are doing this but I'd like to see it sooner. Well at least this is a start. It will be reviewed this Thursday. I hope it passes. I can't see it bing rejected but you never know.

I don't know, recruiting is the last little bit of excitement after the bowl games. If recruiting was done before the bowl games, it would just feel like an abrupt end and even longer between games and spring football talk. Honestly, CFB is about the only sport I give 2 shiits about, so the longer we keep talking anything CFB related the better. At least that's my opinion. Also, I might agree with something a little bit earlier, say 3rd week of January, but December seems a little early. At least let the kids watch the bowl games and see which programs are on the rise, which are on the fall, and which may be getting a coaching change.

agreed, I wouldn't mind it a bit early but I think after the bowl games are over would be best

I don't mind the early signing period so much, it gives the kids that are solid a chance to sign and be done with it. It also gives the coaches and kids that are soft verbals time to look for what they are looking for before the final LOI date.

I am in favor of an early signing period too, though I wonder what we'd make of it if a recruit said he was a strong, 100% commit, but for some reason wanted to sign on the usual Feb date. I mean that would be some serious drama.
