Is it just me or does 2009 Michigan recruit Jeremy Gallon just really like the look of this helmet?

Is this board populated by Germans? No big deal if it is but I was just wondering why a lot of people here spell "helmet" with a "u" in place of the second "e". People, it's not helmut, it's helmet. Criminy.

Duh, obviously. Seems more like Vince went to uos instead of UM since he can't spell his own name.

I like how everyone else gets away with typos and spelling errors all the time, but I get nailed.... eat my shorts.

Seriously who gives a flying F uck about spelling or grammer! Christ im not in english class anymore!

Of course the helmut is what matters. Born and raised in Ohio I have been asked over and over how I became a Michigan fan. the answer I give is simple and straight forward. 3 words "the Winged Helmut"

and yes I realize I misspelled helmut. Big F-ing deal :D

I don't care too much about spelling and GRAMMAR, but I think it is humorous, and perhaps a bit sad, to see how many grown people with college educations cannot distinguish between, "their, there, and they're", "your and you're", and "its and it's". I know people are just coming in and typing something in a hurry, but it seems to me that that should be so ingrained in us by now, that we never really have to think about it. I suppose I am giving too much credit to the educational system in this country!

I, for one, find great satisfaction and take pride in my ability to write and speak with elan and in an erudite manner. I find it particularly funny when someone (typically, an OSU booger-eater) says, "your a moron!" when in fact, their botched grammar displays just what a moron THEY themselves really are. I wrote a lot when I was in school, a whole lot, and I write a lot to this day. Whether it's writing emails to clients, law school essays, or in here, the bottom line for me is that one's writing skills, or lack there of, evidence one of two things: 1). either a lack of intelligence and education, or 2). a complete inattentiveness and apathy toward the English language. I don't fault someone for being grammatically apathetic, but sometimes it makes it hard to convey a convincing point, IMO.

2 cents...

I agree with you Sten. It's particularly tough for me to read something and to not notice grammatical/spelling errors. I was born into a family of teachers. My mother and two sisters are teachers, two of which are English teachers. My girlfriend is a teacher, as is her mother. The problem with society today is that it has become okay to use improper english. The expectations that were once in place, have vanished.

My old high school also had the winged helmets. And they were navy with the maize wings. We were in Ohio so people always hated us because we had "the same uniforms as Michigan."

Actually.. just the helmets.

You mean like the fact that the words "are" or "is" should be inserted before the word "evidence" in your above statement so that it fits more modern literary tradition and not old Chaucerion english?

What a pretentious A$$-Face.

Can we please get back to the fact that I posted this in amusement over the fact that they have M style helmEts and stop the literary society BS?

Thanks..... geez...
