I thought for certain that this was Grady's last year, but i just heard the other day he has one year left; so i checked his eligibility and he will be back in 2009. i know he doesnt fit the offense well but what are the chances he gets utilized as an athletic type fullback? i just think we could use him somewhere other than RB where he will never see the field.
thoughts?

I like grady... and i realize he isnt the typical back for this offense... but goal line plays short yardage isnt a bad idea. Hes got the experience, and is a big back. I like the idea of a full back roll, but the running backs we do have that fit this system arent really bruisers. Its always nice to have one sitting in the arsenal.

meh i dunno, brandon minor looked like a bruiser during the first half of that penn state game and at a few other points in the season. i just hope he stays healthy because if he does i don't see us going any worse than 6-6.

He's a bust; he fumbles on 50% of his carries. However, if he can fix that problem the other 50% always looked pretty good. I don't remember what game it was but he carried a linebacker 5 yards into the end zone this past year. :D

Grady wont play anymore at Michigan. The RB situation is already pretty deep with Minor, Shaw and Carlos Brown. He doesnt fit the system and he fumbles to much. The only time I could see us using him is in goal line situations where we need to pound it into the endzone. Other than that I do not see him playing.
Its sad, he was the beanie wells of his recruiting class. I think he was like the #1 or #2 RB and top 5 overall prospect that year. Another example of LLLLoyd not developing his players to their fullest extent. If only he would have been as good as beanie...

He was a real downer for the program, number 3 in country cummin out of h/school, your right the kid never developed , to bad we could have used him, i dont think rr will play him much if at all, fumble fingers is his middle name..

He will be a huge asset next year!!! Everytime our D needs to work on fumble recovery they can throw Grady in during practice.

Great idea! They could also drop temperatures to 40F and throw Odoms in.

realschool , we had plenty of practice on those drills last season, and when you think of it , we had lots of guys with fumble fingers..

Yeah, seemed like everyone had the bug at one point or another during the season. The only person that I can think of that didn't fumble last year was Mathews.

mathews fumbled a punt against wisconsin, probably one of the harder ones to remember considering how that game ended

If we ever get a QB who RichRod trusts to run the triple option, Grady can be a great weapon, similar to Owen Schmitt at WV. I remember that dude breaking off long runs all over the place when he was there and Grady is a much better "runner" than Schmitt. The best part about the triple is that is the QB makes the right read, the only time the FB will actually get the ball is when no one is there, meaning Grady runs wild.
Just another element of the offense that is missing with crappy QB play. Once we get a true dual threat at QB, watch what happens. The play book opens up and the offense can roll like it was built to.

Grady was all world coming out of Esat Grand Rapids. When Grady got to M he played quite a bit his first year. He bulked up about 15 to 20 lbs. thinking he needed size for bigger Big 10 opponents. All that did was slow down his initial burst so to speak. Then he tried to dump the weight, then got injured and then ended up driving drunk in the City of Wyoning, just outside Grand Rapids. I think he is a bust. His attitude is lacking. I dont even see him on special teams! Just anothe High School kid who couldn't make the jump to College.
