Just switch to Fox News man ;). J/k, it is all over the place isn't it? The fluff dies down in a few days, and then we'll let him do his talking 'on the field'.
Edit: I am loving this concert though, anytime you can bring Mary Blige, Beyonce and Shakira together on the same stage is ok with me :D.

I didn't vote for king obama. That aside, he is now my president too. I hope he fulfills all the potential he has showed, although I think he missed a once in a lifetime chance to unite the nation by making mccain the secretary of state. Looks like it IS business as usual in washington.
My only real problem with the media love fest is this constant claim that he is going to be the first african american president! ... His mom is 100% white, so he is half white. His dad is by varying accounts 75-95% african, so by any standard he can't be a full 50% african. So he is 50% white, around 45-48% african and 2-5% of another race that is debatable.
If you go with the dominant race, obama is white. I think calling him the first african american president is doing a HUGE disservice to whoever will be the first TRUE african american president.
Even if he is a full 50/50, how does that make him african american?
That really bothers me. Let him bring his message of hope and change and I hope he can fulfill it. Don't build him into something he is not.

Too bad they made this all about race. I hope that he can bring the change that he wants to bring. What excuses are the media going to have if he doesn't?

The media have only themselves to blame. Seriously though, what is it lately with everything becoming exponentially dramatic? Tebow, Obama, that pilot from the plane crash? I mean I agree he did a tremendous job landing that plane and it was a miracle that everyone survived, but I don't need to hear about it 24/7, four days in a row.

I just hope Obama works hard for every American, but you just don't know. Take 1OSUNUT for instance. He usually gives about 25% effort at work, but on some days he is hungover or coming down off a drug binge and then he only gives 5% effort at work. Hopefully, Obama won't be a 1OSUNUT.

I dont like being told I'm a racist only because I didnt vote for or think Obama's 'plan' will work. Fear, threats and intimidation is no way to lead.

i think these past two weeks have done nothing but confirm my worst fears about an Obama presidency.
Woefully inexperiened, he's stumbled out of the gates with his appointments (are there any candidates who aren't tax cheats or ex-lobbyists he can nominate?) and foreign policy. He's managed to be piss off India, get shit on by Iran, and have the E.U. threaten a trade war.
The only things he's managed to accomplish are leftist domestic agenda items.
Jimmy Carter's second term has officially begun.

^ +1.
When he won the presidency, I made an effort to give this guy the benefit of the doubt after he rubbed me the wrong way since I first saw him on a TV in '05. Everything I learned since then reinforced it. Still, I held back all my logical points on why he would be such a shitty leader.
He's running out of mulligans.
Hope he finds his step. He's still my president too, but *shakes magic 8-ball*

Couldn't agree more, "gloom and doom economy....let me say it again, this is the worst....., we'll never recover if...." All these threats to pass a stimulus bill that is anything but. Should have been called the porkulous bill. Truth be told, this bill is going to put us in a depression. I'm just glad it isn't going through so easily. Considering his ratings after being elected, I was beginning to think he could walk on water.
Just found out yesterday, that my wife's cousin and her husband (neither of which have jobs and I couldn't tell you the last time they had one....oh yeah, the husband is a drug addict) are getting back $8,000 dollars on their tax return. Obama calls it a tax cut, but since they never paid taxes, I like to think of it a socialistic wealth redistribution. My wife (who works full-time,a part-time job, and is getting he master's degree is speech pathology online) and myself (working on a Ph.D. with help from a fellowship) will probably have to send in about $1,000 again this year after paying in all year. That really pisses me off to no fukcing end.

Well I didn't vote for Obama and quite honestly, the Republicans have only themselves to blaim for the Obama Presidentcy. The Republicans became the Democrats, scandles, spending and nominating someone to lose. I don't know who ran a worse campaing Dole or Mccain. I wanted Romney, but he bowed out before Ohio could vote and so I voted for Huckalbee, because Mccain had already clinched it. The only good thing that came out of Mccain's bid was Palin; somehow, I hope she is on the ticket again.

he's got an 800 billion dollar gamble on the table that every experienced financial analyst told him directly, it will not work. one he passed despite the monumental failure of the first stimulus and he's preaching deficit reduction and still pointing fingers when dems have been in control of congress for the last 4 years. luckily for all of us, his massive ineptitude guarantees a dem will not see the white house for a long time ala carter.

Rockie nailed it. Will the real Republicans please stand up? Bush has destroyed whatever was left of the conservative movement with his stupid "compassionate conservatism" bullshit for the last eight years. Spending money like a drunken sailor and growing government to absurd proportions does not make you a conservative, I can sum up the real Bush in one bill signing - "No Child Left Behind" with Ted Kennedy right behind him.
Sure he threw conservatives a bone now and then but for the most part he fucking killed us and everything we stand for. People now have this perverted notion that conservatives love growing deficits, handing out non supervised bailouts to pals at JP Morgan Chase (thanks for that on the way out the door Bush you fuck, way to look out for the American taxpayer), or that Rush Limbaugh is somehow a party figurehead.
Democrats learned from their mistakes in past years, once Obama's breathtaking 3.5 trillion dollar budget passes and all his pet social groups get their part of the free money grab bag, they will ensure Democrat majorities through force (ACORN anyone?) for the next couple decades. Just wait till we have universal health care as an established process of American society, the first guy who runs for office who suggests getting rid of that entitlement will be committing political suicide even if he was rightto suggest it.
It's going to be a long, loooooong four years.

I voted for obama but am dissapointed so far with what he has done. Lots here in Ohio voted for him because he at the time he was running opposed NAFTA and all the jobs moving to China. His tune has completely changed on those issues now and he sounds just like bush. I'm also dissapointed over the crazy bonuses to the good old boys at aig and amount of bailout money he has allowed. Our country can't afford all of this. The more things change the more they stay the same. I call it Bush 3 at this point. This is not at all what I voted for. I wanted change to help the people not the corporatocracy. This looks very much like a one term president.

Here is the bottom line with jobs in America.
If you run an international corporation, and you can perform the same level of work cheaper overseas with a meaningful ROI. More of often than not, the pressures of competition will force you to move. It has nothing to do with NAFTA or "protecting jobs" as politicians love to say. Those jobs are going overseas whether we like it or not. America either needs to become more business friendly to keep manufacturing and other businesses at home(let's separate Wall Street from that statement), or start adjusting to become the world's executive office. So the next time any politician, Republican or Democrat tells you they are going to "keep jobs at home" they are 100% full of shit.
California is experiencing the worst contraction in the state's history. Companies are moving to places like Texas because its cheaper, doesn't regulate the shit out of the company, and in some case provides a better standard of living.
So what does the state government do to compensate? Raises taxes! haha...sigh.

You voted for a guy who was one of the most far left senators in Congress, and then you are surprised that he is spending his ass off and trying to socialize the economy? Hold on, this is only month 3 of a 48 (96?) month socialist roller coaster ride...

He's right, its actually only been 2 years. But what realschool is leaving out is that for the previous 6 years is that Congress was fairly even and that the Republicans only had a real majority from 1996-2000 during the golden economic times of Clinton. The previous 30-40 years saw largely Democratic control of Congress with a brief interlude of Republican control from time to time.

If it had anything to do with competition and staying competitive then the good old boys at the top would not be paying themselves enough to employ twenty thousand americans in one years pay. It's all sorry greed. Ceo's take charge and loot companies at everybody else's expense. It's wrong.

Granted after 8 years of Bush I think I would have voted for almost anybody but another Republican. While no socialism is the best I'd choose socialism for the poor before I'd choose socialism for the rich like we have right now. The money is coming straight out of our checks and going to the good old boy ceo bonuses. What a great deal for all of us. Like I said this looks just like bush 3. Looks like the big money is now talking.
