Old news. They also have the largest athletic program in all of NCAA sports. They support more teams then any other school. Not all the violations are football. Maybe RR will learn how to do that when he attends rule school. You would think if you were a head coach you would already know them.

But I dont think OSU has had to give back basketball games like the "Fab Four", I don't think OSU has ever been put on probation and that probation extended an extra year, And I dont think the NCAA has made Jim Tressle go to rules class.....

no nut ,your wrong ohio states football program had close to 400 self imposed violations ,it doesnt include the gas station attendent programs ohio state is running, or team basket weaving.

No ricky, it is not football, 399 of those violations were accumulated by the quiz bowl team, women's jr varsity golf, men's varsity croquet, both sex's curling teams, the defending national champion coed intramural darts team, and those badasses on the men's varsity badminton team. You wouldn't believe all of the recruiting violations and illegal agent interactions happening with the OSU badminton recruits, it is a cesspool of corruption.

Yet who is on probation ? Remind me Ricky. Ohio State was not caught cheating - Michigan was.

If you report a violation, you were breaking the rules, cheating:)
Just because you told on yourself does not absolve you of cheating, LOL
MI got caught, LOL

There are a lot of criminals walking the streets that escaped justice - they are still criminals. Failing to get caught is not an accomplishment to boast about, if you have any sort of ethics whatsoever.

self reporting is cheating if you do it as much as ohio state , gene smith was on the ncaa committee, and allows this shit to happen at an alarming rate ,it is bullshit and it is very evident he isnt honest , they act like there doing things the right way by pulling this shit off, does it make it right if you have a kid that continues to steal ,and then tells on himself , sounds like a plan to me.. tressel smith and the rest of ohio state are cheaters at the highest degree.

Speeding is breaking the law.... Running over someone is breaking the law... um did a hit and run and got caught, OSU they reported a speeding ticket on their own... That is why um is on probation and OSU is not

Downward Spiral,
Ok - just to be clear - OSU has admitted they broke the law... like 500 times over the last five years. Right?

the ncaa needs to put somthing in place ,to catch these schools like ohio state that cheat and know they cheat ,and then turn themselves in , ,now how stupid is that, troy smith cheated and barley got a slap and ohio state lived happily ever after.

OSU = minor infractions = self reported
UM = major infractions = tried to hide and got caught
not even close to the same, but hey if you bring OSU down and it makes you feel better, go for it!!!! at least you will have something to feel good about

i would love nothing better then see ohio state get brought down, you know dam well your school cheats on a regular basis, and get nothing for it , hell even the biggest cheater of all at ohio state said michigan isnt doing anything we arent doing , so whats that tell you, or di you forget that , gene smith is your buffer for now but in the future i would like to see the hammer come down until you learn your lesson, teaching you guys is like trying to teach a beagle to quit eating.

Spiral,
"Bringing down" OSU is not my objective - and, nothing regarding OSU (except a Michigan victory) will change my day.
I do like the fact that one of RR's major violations was punishing players for not attending class while football was out of season. Imagine that, the coach actually kept track of players attendance and disciplined players who didn't go to class during "non-active" football periods. The NCAA should have been much harder on Michigan for doing such things.
Oh - and what did Michigan do to "try to hide and get caught"? I believe the NCAA has commented that Michigan's response has been exemplary and completely cooperative.
