Seven days to go till Signing Day (Christmas in February)
Sam Montgomery-Looks like it is going to be North Carolina, however, the coach John Blake, that is recruiting Sam, is rumored to be going to the Jets. Will go all the way to singing day. If Blake takes the job, or the job remains open, look for more information as this unfolds to next Wednesday
Jeron Stokes-Coaches were in a meeting with Jeron last night
Craig Roh-Winter condition going on right now. Tate Forcier not liking the cold
Barkavas Mingo-Michigan is still a player, in the top three, probably staying in the South
2010-Nick Hill- Will be camping at Michigan this summer
Basketball Recruiting/Football Recruiting
Matt Poches-2011-Awsome Mid Range Shooter-Maybe a step back right now of the top 2011 guys, but he is growing

We'll see how much he like all the girl attention he's gonna get once he becomes the starting qb at UM as a freshman. He's gonna be pulling some major *ass.

Does ANYBODY actually like the cold?
Here in Austin we had a cold front come in last night, ice, wind, freezing temps., etc. My wife and I were walking the dog and I was complaining that I was cold. She said, "you're from Michigan, this should be nothing to you..."
Yeah, I may be (or was) more tolerant of the cold, but that certainly doesn't mean that I LIKE it!
I hate it, as I hated it when I lived in Michigan. When you're there, however, you just don't have a choice. I understand that football recruits do have a choice, but I don't see Tate being so shallow as to let something that he knew well in advance to be a reality, becoming anything but an inconvenience.

This is freakin ridiculous, how many recruits does North Carolina have now?
There should be a rule against this shit. I was really hoping we would get Montgomery.
And as far as Tate goes. Thank god he is already enrolled.

Both of my parents are from M, and we go atleast once a year. This cold front that swept north Texas sucks, people also expect me to like the cold cuz my family are a bunch of yankees but i HATE it.

Well, call me crazy, but I love it when it snows, and I do like the cold against my face.....for about a minute, its feels fresh and wake you up after a ginormous lunch.
Its the sludge on the roads/sidewalks I really hate.
Anyways, am sure older bro would have told Tate about it before, so no worries.

What Sam Webb said this morning was not that UNC necessarily lead for Sam Montgomery, just that they were UM's biggest competition. At least that's the way I understood it.

As the deomographics in the US changes and people continue to move to the southeast and southwestern parts of the US it will undoubtedly have an impact on the college football landscape and recruiting.
Of course southern and Calif. schools use weather in their recruiting of 17 & 18year players all the time.
Interesting article below from SI about recruits and what states produce BCS recruits for the past 5 years. Second link shows a map of where all of Michigans recruit have come from over the past 5 years. Article mentions that recruits have been staying closer to home more so over the past 5 years.
However RR seems to be bucking that trend as he seems to have all but surrendered the state of Michigan to MSU and has been recruiting heavily in Florida.

Interesting map. Given the recruiting caliber of the schools with most wins, how impressive is it that WVU makes the Top 10 list??? Enough said :D!

I know I'm not Rockie, but the way I understood it, and the way his recruiting has been going for awhile now, is that UNC is UM's biggest competition. There doesn't appear to be a clear leader at this point.

Part of that was Premium information I got on Rivals/Scout about his leader. Remember, alot rides on that coach going to the Jets or not. My guess is, that if that coach goes to the Jets, he comes to Michigan, if he stays at UNC, Montgomery goes to UNC. My take was that UNC lead because of that Coach. In home visit with Stokes went well last night, will be going to Georgia this weekend. 50/50 with Mingo, Graves and Hall would be 25%. Robinson/ Whitty are a pretty good bet to be Blue

I agree. Rocky made some good points as well with the Jets coaching situation and there might be something to that as well. I think Montgomery has a good relationship with the UNC coach that is recruiting him but is that enough to sway him? Sam indicated that UNC is our biggest threat for Montgomery. Maybe he is a slight UNC lean, maybe not. I don't know what it is with UNC this year in recruiting all of a sudden. Its not like they tore it up this year. They had a good year but not great by any means. They are a basketball school!!!

Do you have both Rivals and Scout premium access? Which one do you think is better? Everyone I've talked to says go to Scout if you want the (sometimes wrong) breaking news 5 mins faster, or go to Rivals for professionalism or something along those lines.
Browsing the Scout freeboards occasionally always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. It's almost like the Freep boards.

I have both and Scout is much faster at breaking news. Remember, Scout broke the RR hire first, they broke the DC hire first and Tom Beaver is usually pretty good at recruitng. Also, I find that your posters over at scout are usually a little more knowledgeable than the ones at Rivals. I'm pretty sure Fred Jackson, Michigan's RB Coach, gives Tom all the inside scoup. However, I've been a member of Rivals for 10 years and you can't go wrong with them guys either. Tom Beaver started with Rivals, and then went to Scout, when that open up. I've met the Rivals guys Balas and Borton before, and both are great guys. Personally, what I'm thinking of doing is going with the internet version of Scout and the paper version of Rivals. Than I cover both bases.
